  1. I haven’t been able to understand why Nexstar and NewsNation didn’t just launch as an OTT streaming channel. NewsNation truly is a good product - the tv audience just doesn’t exist. Nexstar’s internal catchphrases is “digital first” - yet they did the opposite here. When every other media company is pouring money, people, and effort into streaming vs linear tv - they did the opposite. I would’ve loved to see this product as a hybrid of NN, local news, and the old HLN. Presented in a Peacock type format. You could have your main “channel” that streams NewsNation content and local news. So NN would be built around local news shows. Then have another “channel” that is the headlines channel that is basically the same news every 30 minutes like HLN used to do - updated every two hours. Users could also watch a “channel” that is just a constant weather upstate - think looping SD, 7-day forecast, etc.
  2. My bet is that CNN+ is going to be more inline with Peacock than any other streaming service. I bet we can expect to see a main streaming channel with live content, as well as other channels that will run CNN’s special and docuseries. Then there will be a Netflix like gallery of content.
  3. CNN announced today that they will launch CNN+ in the first quarter of 2022 with 8-12 hours of original live content each day. They are looking to hire 450 people in the next 6-9 months to support CNN Plus. https://variety.com/2021/digital/news/inside-cnn-plus-a-first-look-at-the-new-streaming-service-exclusive-1235022517/
  4. Savannah has been working from home recently (I would assume in quarantine before traveling to Tokyo). Al appears to be in his upstate house here. The other three are all seated in front of the video wall in 1A. However, having them in a three shot next to two remote boxes would make everyone too small to see. So visually, it is easier to have everyone like this. For reference, I have attached a pic of what they look like in the studio.
  5. Here’s a look at the updated graphics. The MSNBC Reports graphics are consistent across anchor, but with custom photos for each.
  6. I wouldn’t be surprised to see CNN update their L3 in the next few weeks when they implement their new schedule. Stay tuned!
  7. I noticed this desk this morning at the start of the Today Show. Studio 1A will be home to NBC's Decision 2020, so this desk might be used solely for election night. However, it is very similar to Today's normal desk so I wonder if it'll become a permanent Today fixture after the election. Al's current weather monitor was first used for the 2018 midterm election, so it wouldn't be a first if an election item became a Today fixture. I really like it!!
  8. Here's a preview of what to come on the new GMA 3 this afternoon
  9. Do you have any idea when any shows will move into this new set permanently? And if so which is coming first?
  10. NewscastStudio is also out with an article! https://www.newscaststudio.com/2020/03/03/abc-news-new-studio/ __ I'll be super interested to see how this grand studio comes to life on the simple 30 minute World News Tonight vs This Week vs Nightline
  11. The new EP of Evening News joined CBS last year from CNN
  12. Too bad Meet the Press is on NBC. I think you mean Face the Nation It is the same desk (or an identical one) to the desk they used on the debate stage last night.
  13. Here’s another sneak preview. Straight across the studio from the main desk on the left is the annex into the ABC Live set
  14. Was scrolling through the “ABC News” location tag on Instagram and came across this preview. This looks sweet
  15. I’m assuming this is the space they’ll use for World News Tonight and Election coverage? Also I would bet it would be ready by Super Tuesday
  16. These pictures from WNT's stage manager show that like we suspected, WNT tonight is on temp set with an L shaped video wall while their normal space is renovated. I bet the space will be ready by the Iowa Caucus coverage on Feb 3
  17. The new fourth-hour duo makes their debut in the morning! https://www.newscaststudio.com/2019/04/07/today-hoda-jenna-logo-design/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=facebookpost
  18. Steve Greenberg posted a video to Twitter on 2/21 that showed the windows to 1A covered. It maybe nothing, however I don't foresee a full studio overhaul (if any work was done).
