The Live Audience for Hoda and Jenna has been suspended and the Plaza is now closed to visitors because of the COVID-19 Pandmeic. https://www.today.com/news/today-show-live-audiences-suspended-due-coronavirus-t175664
And after all that big buildup about their show having an audience...

You mean a registered service mark? It does seem odd, though. Station logos usually don't have trademark or service mark (registered or not) on them, so that seems odd.
The only mark I've seen, and it's only been recently, is when KXAS displays their (IMO unnecessary) tagline, "Texas Connects Us", underneath the title of their newscasts during each open. The mark is next to the tagline, not next to the station logo.

Looks like the RNN deal was completed last Friday.
Would be nice to know what their plans are for those stations, including KFWD.

Would be interesting to see if Local-ish is eventually made available to other ABC stations besides the O/O's.

Brian James, a KXAS meteorologist, has accepted a meteorological position with Tenet Healthcare. His last day at KXAS will be January 22.

Circle is on in DFW, KTXA (21.4) has it. I checked before 5am this morning, they were airing Hee Haw. I checked TitanTV also and Circle is listed; hopefully the schedule is correct.

Maybe it was because Tegna entered into a market that clearly is not going to put up with their Millennial ideas (which is the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton DMA).
For stations like KFSM, WTHR, WBNS and WNEP they may have been saved.
For stations like KING, KXTV, WFAA, KHOU, WXIA and WTSP among others it's gonna take a lot of work to reverse the damage that has been done to those stations for the last several years
I'm fairly certain (even though I have no ratings numbers) that Tegna did KYTX no favors in the "let's get rid of every recognizable long-time anchor and replace them with a bunch of no-name/talking-heads" mess, and likely gave away much of the viewership they'd built up over the years, to longtime ratings-topper KLTV.

Former WFAA health reporter Janet St. James was interviewed on the Facebook video podcast "Morning After with Ron & Alexa" recently (Ron and Alexa are Ron Corning and Alexa Conomos, themselves former WFAA anchors). St. James now has metastatic breast cancer, diagnosed after taking a back-office position with a local Dallas hospital. She had worked at WFAA for 19 years. St. James is remarkably open and positive, despite her prognosis.
Of course, my very best to Janet and her family.

KXAS, the NBC O&O for DFW, has issued a rare public apology for delays in breaking into last night’s Cowboys game to report on multiple tornadoes in its coverage area. Will be interesting to see if this does any long-term damage, ratings-wise, to the station. My guess is no. Certainly not a good look for them, though, at least in the short term.
KXAS should be very fortunate there were no deaths. I'm sure if there were quite a number injured/killed there might be a different opinion towards them. I was surprised, before I went to work that night, that it was just the game and a little corner graphic, no cut ins while I had it on. Meanwhile, KDFW showed a red-by-green possible tornado signature on their radar. If the late/great Harold Taft were still around, there would have been more than a small corner graphic on KXAS.

As the revolving door turns.... the DFW market loses yet another, as KXAS reporter Tim Ciesco decides to leave the building. He's accepted a media position with the police department in Arlington, not too many miles from the KXAS studio/office complex.

The diginet DECADES is back in DFW, now of KDFW 4.2. DECADES was dropped on KTVT 11.2 in favor for StartTV.
Has it started yet? Guess I'll need to re-scan now or soon.

UncleBarky is reporting that Jeff Jamison will be departing KTVT soon after 16 years there. The station meteorologist isn't revealing yet what he'll be doing next. Of the current group of KTVT's weatherfolks, Jamison had been there the longest.

I don't know if anybody was aware of what's happening in Southeast Texas, but Beaumont's KBMT-TV 12 (12.1 ABC & 12.2 NBC) had to evacuate their studio on the count of high flooding in their studio. They'll be broadcasting at their sister station, KHOU-TV for the time being.
Their building looks like an old car dealership.
Well, looks like Tegna's got more hurricane/flooding bills to pay...

Oh, so the game was un-canceled?
Yes, despite Plano ISD officials' initial concern about safety. Frisco and the Dallas Cowboys offered a neutral site (The Cowboys' Star headquarters complex) instead.

Is TEGNA's endgame to name every single morning newscast at their stations either "Wake Up!" or "Get Up!"?
Almost every. The Morning Loop appears to be sticking around at KYTX for now.

Okay is this normal for so many people to retire at once? WJZ named 10 people by the anchors and ran a full credits roll with Ocean City, MD scenes. CBS This Morning had 18 people leaving/retiring and at the Evening News had 30. I’d assume the two network shows were results of the shows are relaunching and the stations were the buy outs that were occurring. I guess the buyouts had people end on a certain date.
I've never seen this many people "leave the building" at one time, without it being a takeover/acquisition or an outright closure or folding. So odd. The DFW market has lost this many in recent months at different stations, but not all at once and in one place.

Yet another episode of If It Isn't Broke, Don't Fix It.

KXAS has found its replacement for the departed Mark Fein on their morning news. It's Laura Harris, who comes to Fort Worth by way of Atlanta, Charleston (SC), and Tampa. She will co-anchor with longtime KXASer Deborah Ferguson, making up a rare all-female anchor team in the market.

So...is this a record for TEGNAization with WTOL's morning show crew, even without the Newzatonix chanters and graphics? 'Enjoy' this painful 53 seconds of 'how do you do, fellow kids?' where Gray HQ is like 'yup, we made the right call in keeping WTVG'.
>ugh<.... I'd really like my :53 back. Low. Point.
If WFAA does this, Marty Haag really will spin in his grave.

WBOC is installing a solar farm with 2,088 panels in the back lot of their property. It is designed to power their entire facility with 908 kw. Construction should start later this month and end in June.

Interesting. I wonder how many other stations (radio, TV, etc) would consider a solar array.
