  1. WLFL didn't have news in 1982 (and wouldn't for many years), but they did use TNI&NI+ for promos:
  2. It took well over a year. but bigOplabax finally uploaded some retro KPTM material, this one from about two months into their existance, with lots TVbD graphics (when the company was in their prime!):
  3. A rerun of a later CBS episode of Captain Kangaroo which originally aired Christams Eve 1983, it begins with a KTSP sign on:
  4. Lots of KDKA promos (many new to YT, including the full Renaissance 2 promo!) dating back to the 1980's, beginning with a raw news open:
  5. I'm staying with my aunt and uncle on Anna Maria Island right now, and it should be noted that WWSB never switched to the last Raycom package and is STILL using the graphics they had under its last years with Calkins! I would assume Gray will soon replace it with one of their packages?
  6. A real gold mine! Dave Johnson has uploaded several newscasts from his time as anchor at KZTV in Corpus Christi during the early/mid 1990s: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQp94vvk4KY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3W6tctQEFvs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdCCLwrjAuw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMstXuHEeTw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABuSnOSlYKc After KZTV, Dave was 5pm anchor for KGBT, heres a newscast from September 19, 1997 (which followed Jeopardy's 3000th episode, fun fact, NONE of the RGV's TV stations carried Wheel of Fortune back then, not even newsless KVEO!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruqW4K8M2jo And the intro to that nights CBS Evening News, as well as the 10pm newscast: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4q0ryGr-Tq4
  7. A full KXAN 10pm newscast from March 15, 1990, as taken from the 1am rebroadcast. Unfortunately, the sign-off wasn't on the tape, the recording cut off during a community affairs segment called COPS (how long do you think that tiltle lasted for before getting sued by the show?):
  8. Nice way of distancing them selves from MyZombieTV while still maintainging the MyXX name. I'd expected them to bring back the old Q58 name they had during their UPN and early WB days.
  9. Various reports from the 3 Ft. Smith stations newscasts from June 1985, beginning with the open to KHBS/KTVP's NewsCenter Nightbeat:
  10. The termination of FuzzyMemories YT channel is unfortunate, but not surprising. Some of the recent stuff they had uploaded had tons of flagable/copyright heavy content (such as the full episodes of Happy Days, Soundstage, etc.). I'm curious as to what they'll do from here, whether it be them going to court to have the channel return (like their fight with Tribune 10 years ago to upload WGN-TV clips), or just starting over with a new one. This will definitely breathe new life into their main website however, which hasn't seen much updates since around 2017. Now for a little oddity that a found on a tape, an entire 30+ minute downtime sequence for KYW-TV from September 1987. yes, they were only off the air for a half hour, and yes, they still did formal sign-off and sign-on messages!
  11. If they were, they'd have more full power and Big 4 affiliates.
  12. Well it's a start, I guess. FYI, NewsNet's closest competitor, CBN News Channel has 4 Big 4 affiliates, all owned by Nexstar, WAVY 10.4, KTAL 6.4, KOLR 10.4, and KAMC 28.4. Do I smell a group affiliation for that network on the horizon?
  13. Bumping this after nearly 3 months to tell you that NewsNet still exists, and, they're getting a New York affiliate! Starting May 1, they'll be on WNWT-LD 51, a channel that I assume isn't carried on ANY area cable system. PS, I still haven't watched NewsNet yet, but let me tell you, if they want to last more than 1 year, they'll need cable penetration and carriage on subchannels of at least 5 Big 4 stations. Heck, I think Buzzr wouldn't have survived had they not gotten prime carriage on the Fox O&Os.
  14. I agree with that. They do a good job with coverage of high school football, many of their Thursday Night Lights and Friday Night Rivals games air on Stadium.
  15. Why thank you Derrick. I've got a few rare goodies, sadly no more 80's PC news, but I've still got some surprises up my sleeve!
  16. For the second of my tape captures, I'm now pleased to share you this mega-rare newsbrief from WMBB from January 16, 1984. And before you ask, I don't have any more from this era, yet!
  17. Good news everyone!* I just got myself a capture card, and now I'll be able to share with you all some of the rare goodies from my growing tape collection, starting off with this recording of the ABC News Weekend Report from August 23, 1987, taped off KVUE in Austin and complete with sign-off! https://www.facebook.com/groups/tvidents/permalink/1242947899196159/ *With apologies to Futurama.
  18. Someone please tell this guy to upload this KTWO 1982 newscast in whole, commercials and all!
  19. Some very early WNYW promos from March 30-31, 1986, still using the old "40 Years of Fine Tuning" theme. The Fox network had not yet been announced, and Tom Gregory was still working at the station!
  20. A CFMT ID, movie intro, and promos from February 1987, using the "11 Gold" theme and graphics. Everytime I hear that ID on stations from back then I cant help but sing "_ Gold!": Also on the video are some CHCH promos and a sign-off from that time.
  21. Hmmm, could the theme used in the late 80's/early 90's possibly be a newer/remix version of The News People?
  22. Some clips of WWOR UPN 9 News from January 1996, with their cool movie inspired set:
  23. Some commercials from WABC from exactly one year before 9/11:
  24. WKTV ends the day in 1988 with a brief news headlines rundown, a sign-off dating back to the 70's (with mention of the workers union!), and space shuttle footage set to the 80's version of High Flight:
  25. Welcome back! You were gone for so long I had thought NBC threw you in jail after terminating the old account. I was about to make a whole thread begging you to return, but instead of on YT, as a website (ala FuzzyMemories and TCMediaNow).
