Great find! Over 9 hours worth of clips from the Los Angeles TV stations from 1970, most of which concerns the goevernor election. I don't know if there any opens, considering theres over 9 hours worth, but you'll see tons of big names in their early years, like Bill Bonds, Tom Brokaw, Jim Mitchell, Tom Snyder, Bob Abernathy, Clayton Vaughn, along with other mainstays like Hal Fishman, George Putnam and Baxter Ward. But the majority of this forum (along with longtime station viewers) will probably hate it from day one, cause they all think local newscasts are like the formula for Coca-Cola, in that changing it would be sacriligous and lead to tons of hatetred.

Some commercials from ABC's airings of the Amerika mini-series, taped off WOLO in Columbia. There are news updates with Centerpiece by Soundtrack Music as the theme, back then they had just a 6pm newscast, the 11pm slot was filled by Threes Company reruns with a weather update.

Some stations just need the extra money when they exceed their budgets. BTW, how much does the average paid program pay out to a local station?

Don't forget that KRLR 21 started out as an all music videos channel (known as Vusic 21) before beocming a traditional indie a year after sign-on. BTW, does anyone know the piece of music heard on the station ID at 1:36 of my KBLR video? I've heard in many promos, including for Fox's first airing of the Emmys.
