  1. You've done it again! I'm eagarly awaiting you uploading anything from Tallahassee or Panama City! BTW, the KIVI open would've been to a 5pm or 5:30 newscast, since they aired Wheel of Fortune at 6:30pm back then (it formerly and now airs on KBOI-TV).
  2. Hey, I know you! I saw you on a FB group I'm a part of, and you've become obsessed with NewsNet since it was announced! Do you think it will catch on and move up to major stations? Just a heads up, this kid is from the Philippines, where all newscasts (I assume) are government regulated. NewsNet is likely this users first exposure EVER to 24-hour US news.
  3. I was gonna post that before you did, a great use of Balls & Walls, and in such a small market too!
  4. Promos & a Feature Presnetation intro from BET Movies (now Starz in Black) from 2000:
  5. This commercial block from WUHF from September 28, 1984 is the earliest recording I've seen of any station using Turn To News. There's also a full 1-min image sing at 5:15:
  6. They had a 7pm newscast back in the late 60's/early 70's:
  7. A KIEM morning update from 1989, does that look better than what they had throughout this decade?
  8. WJLA ends the day in March of 1980, using the same audio used in the already unearthed 1986 sign-off, but with a mention of the TV Code at the begining. Also preceding the sign off is the outro to their Late Great Movie using very late 70's graphics and music, plus a brief community affairs interview segment (which I assume also aired at sign-on):
  9. These clips of Chattanooga newscasts from November 1997 show that WDEF was still using People You Can Count On after Media General bought Park:
  10. Some commercials from WTLV using their 2nd TVbD look: BTW, I'm Facebook friends with the guy who gave Channel 37 this tape (he's also given some material, mostly Jacksonville & Florida clips, to NewsActive3, who I'm also Facebook friends with now!).
  11. It's the end of the broadcast day for WHO-TV in 1988:
  12. Where the heck did this WUTR sign off come from?
  13. Here's a rather interesting find in a commercial compilation. Despite joining the 24-Hour News craze in the early 1990's, WDAF-TV would still sign off some nights (likely one Saturday or Sunday a month) for regular matinence. This is one example from 1994, just months before being sold to New World and going to Fox, note that the sign-off plugs the station engineers union!
  14. Surprise! It's two rare classic newscasts from WBKB!
  15. Will someone please request bigO!plabax to upload all he has of this? I've been waiting to see any video of ABC's The Last Word for ages!
  16. No, it was full on terminated. It's completely gone now. He would have to start over. But until then, Houston TV material on YT has become as scarce as markets like Ft. Myers or Madison. I'd completly forgotten that Florida's News Channel was a thing! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Tr3u_ND1bo
  17. Any word on when HoustonTVNews/NewsStar2 will return to YT? I just he doesn't be like phillyvideofan and never returns!
  18. Well, come midnight it looks like we're in for another government shutdown, I would assume the cable networks are going to stay live into the overnight hours and the weekend evenings again?
  19. WSJV's news open from 1987 using TNI&NI+, a few months after this, the station got a new logo and the KXAS squares graphics: https://youtu.be/UVU4pio0PMs?t=672
  20. I have a bad feeling that stevations will get terminated by NBCU within the next few months, go ahead and save his videos while you still can! https://www.youtube.com/user/stevations He had to stop posting videos after he lost his monetization privelages, and would like donations for new tapes and possibly a website to post them on!
  21. I do. They carry Kids Click now, so if TBD goes away, Kids Click could go full-time.
  22. I'm thinking CourtTV might end up being a replacement for Grit. They recently lost a lot of their content (mainly action shows and recent movies) and are now stuck airing mostly old westerns shows from the 50's & 60's (and not the biggies like Gunsmoke & Bonanza). Just look at their most recent schedule, looks like something you'd seen on the Luken networks: https://www.grittv.com/tv-schedule/
  23. The pilot episode of the short lived CBS series TIme Express, starring Vincent Price, and aired on April 26, 1979. What makes this worth posting is that this was taped off KDFW, and has ID's voiced by Charlie Van Dyke in what may be his very first TV announcer job:
  24. At last I'm back! I thought I would never be able to freturn after the update! At the end of this break is a WSJV ID using The News Image: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8lVVmAiK3o
