  1. First confirmed casualty: the Padres.
  2. Jerry Reinsdorf has purchased most of Stadium from Sinclair.
  3. KTVT has been unable to show newscasts since a little bit after 4:30 this afternoon due to a lightning strike. They showed CBSN during the 4:30 and 5pm half-hours and reran the CBS Evening News at 6pm. Their three subchannels are down as well. KTXA is still functioning normally. As of this writing, the problem has still not been fixed. UPDATE: As KTVT/KTXA also houses CBS News’ innovation lab, CBS News NOW couldn’t be produced tonight. UPDATE 2: KTVT’s newscasts have returned to air starting with the 10pm tonight.
  4. This could be a glimpse at KMAX’s post-CW life.
  5. Unfortunately, there were no changes to Good Day on KMAX. They just moved the bug to the left side of the screen.
  6. Nexstar is acquiring WSNN-LD in Sarasota.
  7. It appears Adell was under investigation for missing taxes.

I think it may be due to the successful culture WSVN has built through the decades in Miami/Fort Lauderdale. Many of their English-language rivals in the market have taken key elements from them or in the case of WPLG, flat out copied them completely.

KTVT, KPIX and KPRC all cut their 4:30am newscasts during the pandemic.
  10. The Kelly Clarkson Show is facing allegations of a toxic work environment behind the scenes.
  11. They should continue that. It‘s regularly beating WTXF’s 10pm in the ratings.
  12. Looks like Licht is giving Kaitlan Collins 9pm.
  13. Also, those new indies in CBS O&O markets may add additional newscasts beyond the hybrid NOW franchise. KPIX started a 7-9 expanded morning newscast for KBCW back in September, and WLNY and WPSG are simulcasting 7am streaming newscasts from WCBS and KYW, respectively.
  14. Here’s what Wendy McMahon had to say about programming these new (and possibly existing) independents in the Deadline piece: Sounds like there’s a new game plan in the works for the CBS independent stations that isn’t just tired court shows.
  15. The KMAX and WPSG situations are easy. KQCA and WPHL. Mind you, the latter is a MyNetwork affiliate owned by Nexstar.
  16. Dakota News Now reporter Austin Goss has been fired and charged for making a crank call in January to Gov. Kristi Noem’s office.
  17. NBCLX is shutting down.
  18. I guess Chicago is enough of a channel number market to warrant keeping the 2. Although I have no idea why they're using their 2 in the intro and the WCBS 2 in the bug.
  19. If no payment by Friday, the Reds will be the first to abandon Bally Sports.
  20. Dana Bash replacing John King on Inside Politics.
  21. Looks like Fox is ready for war should Tucker wage it:
  22. Samantha Rivera’s replacement is Ruthie Polinsky from WTVJ. Turns out there was a Chicago-Miami sportscaster trade.
