  1. Rest of DFW: KXAS: no change WFAA: no change KDFI: Drops one airing of Divorce Court for Who The Bleep Is That? at noon. Chicago Fire double-run from 10am-noon is replaced with double-runs of Family Feud at 10am and People Puzzler at 11am. One hour of Family Feud at 3pm is replaced with a double-run of 25 Words or Less, with Feud now running from 4-7pm. Modern Family moves to 8:30 and Chicago Fire to 9pm. They’ll air Law & Order: SVU from 10pm-midnight, replacing Dateline and The Big Bang Theory. Dish Nation moves to midnight. KDAF (continued): Friends moves to 9pm, which moves Last Man Standing to midnight.
  2. KDFW is replacing YBYL with a Person, Place or Thing double-run at 2pm and is switching up TMZ and Extra’s timeslots. TMZ at 6:30 (after years of airing in late night) and Extra at 11pm.
  3. In addition to J! moving to KTVT at 6pm, they’re also replacing Dr. Phil with a block of Funny You Should Ask and Daytime J! at 3p and 3:30p respectively, moving from KTXA. KTXA is: Adding The First 48 at 7am and is double-running 48 Hours at 8am and 8pm. Replacing Rachael Ray at 9am with Dr. Phil reruns. Replacing FYSA with Top Secret Files: Declassified and Court Cam at 10am. Replacing The People’s Court with Equal Justice at 1pm and Justice for the People at 3pm Replacing Judge Mathis with Cutlers Court at 2pm and Mathis Court at 4pm Replacing J! with an additional double-run of Hot Bench at 6pm and The Neighborhood at 10pm Replacing Chicago P.D. with KTVT’s new 7pm newscast Moving Law & Order: SVU to 9pm, replacing the departing NOW News.

  5. Confirmed: WBBM’s 9am newscast expands to an hour on TV September 11.
  6. Fenway Sports Group is taking over AT&T Sportsnet Pittsburgh.
  7. WUPA is keeping Atlanta NOW News, moving it to 8pm. I assume it’ll be a full Atlanta-focused newscast produced out of Dallas, as it was pre-NOW, since the hybrid local-national show is ending on Thursday.
  8. Fox has tweaked the graphics a bit during the off-season, installing a new font.
  9. Not TV news, but still important enough for this topic: Bob Barker has passed away at 99 years old.
  10. Former longtime KOIN anchor Mike Donahue has passed away.
  11. Who The Bleep Is That? has very limited syndication.
  12. KYW has a streaming/WPSG 7am with regular morning anchors Jim Donovan and Janelle Burrell.
  13. KTVT is adding a 7pm newscast to KTXA on the 12th.
  14. KTVT is dropping their 6pm newscast for a block of J! and Wheel.
  15. A couple of notes from this TVNewsCheck piece on syndication: - You Bet Your Life has been cancelled due to the writers’ strike. - Who The Bleep Is That? is a go for this fall after Fox’s test run back in March.
  16. Yet another Gray station trading a talk show for a local program. KFVS is dropping Kelly Clarkson for new local program Heartland Afternoon at 3pm September 5th. InvestigateTV+ will follow one week later at 3:30pm on September 11th.
  17. When Gray purchased Meredith, they inherited their graphics hub. Matt Quinn was the lead designer. GrayONE is built off the bones of the outgoing Meredith graphics package.

  19. KDAF is picking up the People’s Court rerun package from KTXA and The Big Bang Theory from KDFI September 4th. KTXA has also rejected the Judge Mathis reruns, so no word on where that is going yet (if it even gets rerun at all here).
  20. Appears 8pm/7pm newscasts are what's coming to the indies. In addition to the KPIX two-hour primetime news block, WCBS is adding an 8pm to WLNY, KTVT is adding a 7pm to KTXA, and KOVR is debuting an 8pm on KMAX called "Primetime Sacramento".
  21. KCRG replacing Kelly Clarkson at 9am with local lifestyle show Everyday Iowa.
