  1. Some more KFOR clips, this time from 1993, Linda Cavanaugh providing a News Update
  2. I got to see some clips of the Turko Files via YouTube of KUSI's newscasts and it was pretty entertaining... To say the least
  3. Which is good because neither one of those Nexstar website names makes any sense, so I think that's one of the changes that we've seen out of Nexstar post-MG merger but still got a long way to go but, it's baby steps that we're taking
  4. Sounds like Sinclair put someone at the former Fisher stations in charge and decided "we need to air the must runs during the evening newscasts instead of the overnights"
  5. I had a friend of mine on Facebook who happens to live not too far from Grand Rapids (not saying his name though) showed me the new WOOD TV website and it looks pretty nice for a Nexstar. Thankfully, WOOD didn't drop "woodtv.com" for "westmichigan.com" "westmichiganlocal.com" (however Nexstar names their websites)
  6. CBS North Carolina never really sounded right anyway because it was just too bland (this was the branding WNCN should've went to when they switched to CBS in 2015)
  7. Essentially WNCN just copied the WSPA logo
  8. Yikes! Hope the driver is alright
  9. So basically KTEN is hiring a Meteorologist who will ultimately suceed Mitchell as their Chief Meteorologist if I'm reading correctly
  10. I wonder if Alan Mitchell retired? That may be why KTEN has an opening for the Chief Meteorologist job
  11. It's a good question and I would venture out and say yes but let's wait and see what WKYC and WJW does (especially WJW) before I can give you a straight answer (besides that any discussion about the other Cleveland-area stations can be discussed elsewhere)
  12. That's true but Nexstar is improving and all it needed was the Media General purchase for it to transform the company
  13. I think it's a mix of both TEGNA having ties to KTTU/KMSB and the fact that Raycom operates it. It's an indicator that KMSB/KTTU is a Raycom station, for the most part while KOLD is a TEGNA station, for the most part
  14. It seems as if Media General bought Nexstar and not the other way around because if you notice not only did the former MG stations retain their websites but the executives of Media General (and LIN before Media General acquired LIN) has taken over Nexstar. I actually think that Nexstar has changed for the better post-Media General merger and I hope the existing Nexstar stations (including the legacy stations) do away with "localhomepage.net"
  15. Isn't KB is a Journal station turned into a Scripps station?
  16. And the same can be said about the iGen people, but I like to get local news on Television (at a convienient time) and get Sports News/Highlights on CBS Sports HQ instead of ESPN plus national news on CBSN instead of Fox News, CNN and MSNBC
  17. Which does makes sense because that's what Scripps is trying to do is get the younger viewers watching their shows and their content (Which I'm glad Scripps is at least trying even though it may be "cheap")
  18. KJRH, KSHB, KERO, WFTX, WMAR and WKBW all don't air The Now
  19. Exactly, but the problem was that Scripps didn't give them the option when they should have
  20. So only the former Journal stations getting the 30 minute version of "The Now"? What happened to the rest of the former Journal stations? At least WTMJ/WGBA did a great job when it comes to the graphics Also I don't think KTNV will ever get "The Now" and if they did it'll only last a few months before "The Now" goes nationwide
  21. What kind of people Scripps is hiring for the national version of "The Now"?
  22. Promo for Geraldo seen on then-KTVY (now known as KFOR) in 1990
  23. Those stations should have been given the option to turn it down because even the stations themselves knew that these shows wasn't going to ratings winners in the first place, I think Scripps gave the stations no choice but to air those shows and it damaged their overall ratings for their local newscasts
  24. That's so sad, may he rest in peace and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family
  25. Overall, Wells hasn't been heard on TV News since when KXII in Sherman/Ada switched to U-Phonix in 2015 and dropped Wells as the announcer and when I think of Wells I think of him as the announcer that was (in my John B. Wells voice) "Working in the Spirit of Texas."
