  1. I've said it since Tribune filed their lawsuit against Sinclair, this is the beginning of the end for Sinclair as more media mergers and as we saw with Cordillera, other media companies like Cox that are looking for buyers will say No to Sinclair as many times as possible no matter how much Sinclair offers them. Like @channel2 said in the Speculatron board, smart companies like Cordillera will avoid Sinclair at all costs because they cannot entrust Sinclair to make the necessary divestitures where needed. Only companies like Tribune will make a fool of themselves and be faced with months of regulatory delays and (eventually) the merger being sent by the FCC to an ALJ and resulting in a termination of the deal.
  2. But of course, this is Sinclair were talking about here and do they make ANYTHING close to believable? No they don't
  3. I had cna ignored on the old TVNT site before the latest upgrade, now it looks like I'm going to have to hit it again. Besides that cna is just a troll and nothing else
  4. The day that the FCC forces Sinclair to sell the stations or face losing its license to broadcast will be the day in which EVERYONE on TVNT will rejoice! (On top of that the ALJ has been sitting on the Sinclair misconduct case doing nothing about it THREE months after Tribune terminated deal tells me that Sinclair doesn't plan on, nor do they care to resolve those misrepresentation issues) EDIT: I forgot that the ACA is wanting the FCC to look at Sinclair's license early, I think there's a very good possibility of that happening.

  7. This is what happens when a company like Sinclair gets too big for its bridges. They can't even roll out a graphics package correctly
  8. WFAA-TV presents... Fifty Years of The Spirit Of Texas.

  9. So far it seems as if the rollouts is only limited to things like the Weather graphics, etc. What's the reasoning behind all of that?
  10. So basically all WFAA did was groomed Wheeler to do afternoon newscasts instead of succeeding John McCaa on the evening newscasts. Alrighty then, that was their choice
  11. Where was the weekend anchor crew? Did they decide to take Thanksgiving off too?
  12. That will draw WJW and WOIO more viewers in their morning newscasts, that's for sure
  13. Also Chip Moody would be rolling over in his grave seeing what TEGNA has done to the Spirit of Texas (WFAA)
  14. So are they consolidating two newscasts into one or what exactly are they doing?
  15. If Gray (post-Raycom) ultimately decides to sell WXIX, don't be surprised if WVUE (another NFL market Fox does not have) was to be included in the deal.
  16. In other words, as long as the ratings are sky high, it doesn't matter how much controversy comes up, that person will still be on the job AND will still appear on TV, apps, etc.
  17. The thing about this is if you and I made a controversial post on Social Media and our boss at work sees that, we would get fired. So the fact that the "General Manager" of KUSI hasn't fired his/her own "reporters" that have either made a controversial post on Social Media and/or have gotten themselves in trouble with the law speaks volumes that this so-called General Manager of KUSI does NOT care about establishing rules that say that your Social Media posts (personal page, professional page) cannot be controversial and if you get arrested and you're working for us (the station) then you will be terminated. But then again this is California we're talking about here and they will do whatever it takes to retain their employers
  18. So in other words we have seen reporters losing their jobs over posts made on Social Media yet this Mark Mathis guy only gets a "slap on the wrist" and is STILL employed at KUSI? I see a double standard to this issue here
  19. So it was before NBC inherited IndyCar from Versus after the Comcast acquisition correct?
  20. They did the same thing from 2001-06 when it was known as the Busch series, it's just plain laziness that's all there is to it
  21. The question would be does KMGH want to bring Mike Landess back? Because I'm sure Landess would like to return to KMGH
  22. And that Peter Van Zelt guy (or however you spell his last name) will troll on your site saying how bad it is for stations to add newscasts and how stations "would" go belly up if the newscast expansions don't stop or whatever the heck he says on your site
  23. I think sooner rather than later KOCO will have to launch a 4p newscast (they don't necessarily need a midday newscast as they already have a 9a newscast so all they would need to do is shift the 9a to 11a if they were to get back into the midday newscast and shift Access Live to 9a) But I think as long as they have the Dr. Oz/Steve/Ellen block, KOCO will never get into the 4p news game (much like KOKH will never add any early evening/late afternoon newscasts as long as Judy is still doing Judge Judy and The Big Bang Theory does well in the 6/6:30p slots)
  24. Late reply but, even ABC is starting to have some of their own elements in their sports telecasts (i.e ABC's name is on the Copyright stamp instead of ESPN). Who knows maybe Disney has finally realized that placing the ESPN branding on ABC was a mistake
