  1. It is funny when rumors of Sheena taking Glenn's job had everyone crazed - but now that Tammie has actually done it - nobody cares. Odd. Was it just something about Sheena? or am I missing something here?
  2. Other than Tammi referring to herself as "Chief" I did not see any other mention of the change on-air. I wasn't glued to the broadcast so I may have missed it though.
  3. NBC10 website has been updated as follows: Tammie Souza NBC10 First Alert Weather Chief Meteorologist Tammie Souza is the NBC10 First Alert Weather team's Chief Meteorologist. Glenn "Hurricane" Schwartz is a meteorologist for NBC10.
  4. In their post about Hugh's new show TVNewser also mentions "Thomas Roberts will anchor two hours in the evenings on both Saturday and Sunday, with coverage running until 9 p.m." Welcome Back Thomas to a regular time slot.
  5. WFMZ's Jim Vaughn shared extremely sad news tonight about his co-anchor Melanie Falcon. The video of his message can be found on wfmz.com. http://www.wfmz.com/288801357 Additionally, Melanie posted the following on Facebook: [/url] Melanie Falcon Many of you have asked where I am.. and you may remember that before Thanksgiving, I announced my family was growing by one.. After some complications, Kaitlyn Jane was born on Saturday January 14th, straight into the hands of the Lord, at just 22 weeks. Our hearts are broken, but all she knew was love ❤ I've been taking some time off, but will be back soon. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.
  6. If I am correct - I believe their goal is to auction the WFMZ channel position and utilize KJWP.
  7. MSNBC truly seems prepared to move forward with a good mix of news and opinion. The mix of Joe/Mika & Greta with Chris Matthews & Rachel, as well as Lawrence. The former road warriors in their new positions further enhance the news operation. I think we now see a truly "Fair & Balanced" cable news channel. Now, hopefully, the viewers will give MSNBC a chance and ratings will soar.
  8. Not strictly about 69 News but more WFMZ in general. It's been over a year since WFMZ announced the purchase of KJWP in Wilmington, DE. Has anyone heard a status update? Or is the sale tied to the FCC auction?
  9. It is a great special. Full of memories of anchors and reporters past. It is truly amazing where some of the alum's have graduated to after leaving East Rock Road. CONGRATS WFMZ!!
  10. ABC does once again own the rights to it's 2 former soaps (AMC and OLTL) maybe revival is possible.
  11. We need to remember that "The Talk" was created by Sara not Chen-bot
  12. "With All Due Respect" broadcast it's final episode on Bloomberg & MSNBC tonight. Do we know yet what will replace it on MSNBC?
  13. Given the HUGE success CBS is having with ratings growth in the morning - maybe utilizing the same same studio at night will bring that same good mojo to the evening show. It also helps create some symmetry within the CBS News product.
  14. They have been showing a preview during news programming yesterday and today. It will be fun to see how far they have come in 40 years - from the early days of Newspulse, not to mention 40 years of Kathy Craine; plus some "Where are they now?" on past on-air talent.
  15. I didn't get to see it tonight...the important question is - even after 10 minutes of religious commercials were they still able to fit in Mr. Dean or Rev. Barnhouse's commentary - we wouldn't want to miss that?
  16. TVSpy reports ... Kansas City Station Hires Weekend Co-Anchor By Kevin Eck on Sep. 30, 2016 - 11:54 AM Keleigh Gibbs has been hired by Kansas City ABC affiliate KMBC as a weekend co-anchor. Gibbs comes from WFMZ in Allentown, Pa. where she was a reporter. “I already feel so incredibly welcome here in Kansas City,” said Gibbs. “I’m excited and grateful to be back in the Midwest contributing to the outstanding journalistic legacy of KMBC 9 News.” Before working at WFMZ, Gibbs worked at TouchVision in Chicago. She’s also worked at WXMI in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
  17. Still don't know about Bryan - but Wendy just used the words "Sports Director Dan Moscaritolo." Additionally, the website has been updated to reflect Dan's promotion. CONGRATS DAN!!!!
  18. Nope - doubt it - probably just a fluke. Sometimes they can't help themselves and deliver some real news - she will probably get in trouble for it when she gets back to Philly.
  19. Not sure here - is Alison Young a KYW reporter - she is not on the website? ...and technically isn't Ed Rendell a MSNBC Political Contributor? So, they really only have 1 in Cleveland.
  20. The Philly stations haven't even sent that much talent to the RNC. Yes, they have network coverage to supplement - where WFMZ is independent, but WFMZ has CNN Newsource. I always wondered if it was a contractual thing (or just an ego thing) that Rob & Wendy only anchor their broadcasts with each other or solo. The only time I can remember seeing them with anyone else was when they fill-in @ 4pm, or during extended snowstorm coverage. I agree about Sunrise as well, 4 hours is much too long to be alone at the desk. PS - Day 14 since I noticed Bryan Salmond being MIA. As far as I know there still has been no mention made on-air. This could be a great "Ask the Anchors" question for the Sunrise team "not-to-answer" (like the Rick Edwards question was.)
  21. Agreed - whether it be "Good Question" or "Taste with Tori" they should have been placed in the "lighter" broadcasts of mornings, noon or 5pm. 6pm and 11pm are about hard news. Reinventing local news by going soft failed once before for KYW - but for some reason we are now suffering through it again.
  22. Maybe they decided they needed to start covering news again.
  23. Although his personal twitter is current - his WFMZ facebook page hasn't been updated since June 19th and the link to his bio from there goes to a "page not found".
  24. Jim & Alexandra seem like good additions so far. Which probably means they won't be here long.
  25. Anyone know what happened to Bryan Salmond, WFMZ's new Sports Director? He seems to be MIA. His bio is gone from the website as well. I may have just missed his departure if it was over the holiday weekend...or maybe he is just hanging out with Rick Edwards.
