  1. WPEC video editor Mike Caruso, who suffers from muscular dystrophy, is suing Sinclair for discrimination. He says Sinclair is refusing to accommodate his disability. Mike has been with the station for 27 years. http://www.ftvlive.com/todays-news/2015/11/12/wheelchair-bound-staffer-sues-sinclair-station
  2. What was the CEO of WVMH being sued over ? I was kinda hoping that a better company (like MG or Scripps) would by theses stations; but that was obviously never going to happen. If the MG - Nexstar deal falls through I could see Nexstar going on a little buy spree and gobbling up other smaller companies like Bonten and Morris
  3. The new Assistant ND at KJRH really doesn't like democrats http://www.ftvlive.com/todays-news/2015/10/29/really But Scripps has decided to keep her despite her bias, and make her the attention of a story for a charity http://www.ftvlive.com/todays-news/2015/11/5/right-wing-deuce-to-dance-for-cash
  4. I thought the Quad cities was a larger market (turns out it's not) plus I think the the area around Quad Cities is more swingy politically (voting for Obama in 2008 and 2012, but voting for GOP in Senate and Governor elections). in hindsight it does make sense seeing how half the market is in Illinois,
  5. Here's an interesting breakdown of political TV ad spending in Iowa. It's main focus is showing what campaign (and Super PAC's) have spent the most money, but it also shows how much has been spend in each of the Iowa markets and which Des Monies stations have received the most money. I was surprised that Cedar Rapids was the 2nd largest market for political ads, I thought for sure that Quad Cities would have gotten more (This probably explains why Gray paid so much for KCRG). http://www.press-citizen.com/story/news/elections/presidential/caucus/2015/10/10/political-ad-onslaught-has-only-just-begun/73615842/
  6. That's disappointing, but not surprising. They'll probably have one of their sidecars acquire KLKN (most likely HSH), and move ABC in Lincoln to the main channel of KFXL and then have Fox moved to .2 . KLKN will then probably show some digi-net
  7. Does Scripps have any plans for Journal's NowTrending initiative? The site is still active but it hasn't been updated to the Scripps web platform http://www.scrippsmedia.com/now-trending/
  8. WTIC has gone back to the Fox 61 branding
  9. My guess is WJCL 22 News, but that is just a guess. As for when they get the Hearst graphics and web layout..... I have no idea. For some reason they are taking their time with WJCL. Which is odd to me because they were able to get WVTM Hearst-ified very quickly.
  10. The rest of the Journal stations have switched to the Scripps web layout
  11. The WJCL website (which has been using the Nexstar layout for the last few months) has been slightly tweaked. The logo also appears to have been tweaked. It now says WJCL 22 and includes the ABC logo. They have also started using the Hearst graphics for weather segments.
  12. WIS Chief Meteorologist John Farley's contract wasn't renewed, yesterday was his last day. They chose a really bad time to do this considering all of the floods they've had recently. http://www.ftvlive.com/todays-news/2015/10/8/raycom-cans-chief-met-in-middle-of-massive-storm An awkward situation in an unnamed Fox O&Os newsroom http://www.ftvlive.com/todays-news/2015/10/6/and-this-is-your-news-director
  13. Alex Wagner will take over Steve Kornacki’s weekend time slot. Also Kornacki will be the Monday host of MTP Daily. That makes sense seeing as Steve is also a political junkie and Chuck probably doesn't want to work 6 days a week. http://www.mediaite.com/tv/msnbcs-alex-wagner-will-take-over-steve-kornackis-weekend-time-slot/
  14. Apparel companies have messed up before. It could be that the company they hired to make the hats messed up and instead of on-air personalities using them they gave them to employees as free bees.
  15. I just noticed this today. When did WABC-TV change their web address from 7online.com to abc7ny.com ?
  16. WTMJ (AM) is also using the new Scripps template. I wonder if other radio stations will adapt it. http://www.wtmj.com/
  17. A WVLA Reporter Claims He Was Fired for Asking Louisiana Senator (and candidate for Governor) David Vitter About His Past Prostitution Scandal http://theadvocate.com/news/13402223-123/reporter-claims-he-was-fired
  18. How old are the Journal graphics?
  19. well if the Journal stations are going to adapt the Scripps V2 graphics we can expect them to be around for a few more years. I was kinda hoping that they would role out an all new package
  20. The problem with buying Graham is that Hearst owns newspapers in San Antonio and Houston, so they can't buy the stations (unless they get a waiver or divest the newspapers).
  21. It looks like the websites are nearing competion. Also I found new site's under construction for KGUN http://www.scrippsnationalnews.com/web/kgun KMTV http://www.scrippsnationalnews.com/web/kmtv WGBA http://www.scrippsnationalnews.com/web/wgba WFTX http://www.scrippsnationalnews.com/web/wftx KIVI http://www.scrippsnationalnews.com/web/kivi WSYM http://www.scrippsnationalnews.com/web/wsym
  22. If Al moves to Sunday mornings what becomes of MSNBC's current weekend shows UP and MHP ?
