1. I think they should promote Kate Amara, demote Andre Hepkins, hire new male and female anchor, add 4pm news, expand noon news to an hour, and morning news to 4am.
2. Okay, this basically confirms TODAY is getting a new set. After the Olympics would be the perfect time to get one considering their current set design is about 5 years old, they are going to have a big ratings boost from BOTH the Super Bowl AND Olympics, and they have a new anchor team everybody loves. They're doing the 9 and 10am hours from Megyn Kelly's studio. Yes, I know the 9am hour is always in that studio. But the 10am isn't. NBC claims it's for simplifying things on the production side, but I think they're hiding something.
3. Well, Boston Media Watch said she's hinted on Twitter about a return to TV. Hope she shows up on WCVB!
4. Do you know anything about the sets? Are music changes coming?
5. https://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/business/New-Comcast-Building-a-Gamechanger-for-NBC10-Telemundo-62-240860921.html
6. Does anyone know when they are going to move into the new Comcast Center building?
7. I watched! It looks nice but I wish they would update the in-show graphics.
8. I saw the West Coast open for the Today show from last Thursday (1/4). And Craig was in for Hoda because she was doing the 10am ET hour. I never thought about that before. That's pretty dumb not having your main co host on for part of the show most of the time. Also, they used the wrong headline bed (the one that has more brass in it that they have since stopped using).
9. YAY!! THE TODAY SHOW IS BACK!!
10. What is the production music used starting at 0:07? And the music heard in this video? Also, the music used for the tease in this video? It's not LA Groove, I've heard it before on other stations. And, the music used starting at 1:27 in this video?
11. Well, the New England One article said the set "enhancements" would debut in 2017, which ends in about two months. Anybody know anything more? I'm really curious! BTW, a Facebook Live video from Olessa S. said they are going to launch a new CityLine set very soon.
12. No, I don't think so, but they need new ones. Tomorrow would be the perfect debut day. Why? Do you know something we don't?
13. WCVB cut the ribbon to its new newsroom earlier this week...http://www.newscaststudio.com/2017/09/13/wcvb-new-newsrooom/ and a new tweet from WCVB CSD today shows the start of Phase 2 of WCVB renovations. Does he mean new studio or office space? I wonder when there new set will debut this year as New England One reported last fall.
14. I love David Muir. He is my journalist idol. I was disappointed when he wasn't on. I got so tired of Tom Llamas, I actually have been watching NBC for the past few nights.
15. What is that guy doing?
16. I wouldn't be surprised if an evening news expansion is coming. I think they need to freshen up their newscasts. They are too stuffy. They also need to change the Strive cuts they use to fresher cuts and not use dang Agent of Change all day long.
17. FUN FACT: Yesterday was the five-year anniversary of the Hearst Diagrid Graphics and Strive. They debuted on July 18, 2012 on WESH's noon newscast. Plus, if you can, please take a gander at my above post. I'm curious. Thanks!
18. Does anybody know the music used at 19:30 in this video? The music used in this video? The new Sunrise theme? Production music? First cut in this video? I know, it's a lot! Thanks to anybody who can help!
19. You're right. There are plenty of times that I get bored because they air commercials for 10 minutes.
20. All network morning shows go overboard with commercials. The Orange Room debuted in 2013 and is where they do the trending segments, social media stuff, etc. It's just a marketing gimmicks, but I don't mind. It is called The Orange Room because the TODAY's main color is orange.
21. I think it needs a refresh. I like it, but it sounds kind of stuffy in comparison to GMA.
22. I've noticed lately that they haven't been opening the 7am hour with the plaza shot, but with the control room. It's cool to see that, but it is kind of boring. TODAY was the only morning show that would wake you up with the sound of crazed screaming tourists at 7am. It was special. Also, the anchors don't open the 8am hour on the plaza anymore, which is dumb. They were only together outside ONE time today. I think people will notice this and it will turn tourists in NYC away from coming to the plaza because they'll never be on TV. I wish they would dedicate a couple of minutes of talking with the fans on TV. Find some people who would make a good story and put 'em on. That would be neat. The hosts almost never interact with them on the show.
23. Last fall, New England One posted an article (link below) that WCVB is to get an updated set this year. Emily Riemer (I think) recently posted a picture to Facebook showing they are renovating the newsroom. Does anybody know anything more? Also, a question of mine I never got answered...I'll try again. I'd love to know... do stations or Hearst commission the updates to Strive as the package is being updated seemingly constantly. http://www.newenglandone.com/news/local/boston/a-scenic-change-in-boston/wcvb-5.html EDIT:I noticed today that WBAL is hiring a new anchor. Who's leaving? News expansion?
24. Never knew they did this...WTAE opened their 11pm news last night with a "Severe Weather" open. I thought WPXI was the only one in the market to do this.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VbFo4506nY
