  1. New set coming in a few weeks. Saw this posted on one of the anchors instagram. It looks amazing
  2. No they will move all programming to WPHL-TV since Nexstar owes CW/WPHL-TV. They are currently constructing a new news set as well set to debut in Oct/Nov
  3. 100% Believe the story! There needs to be sources regardless and it sounds very cuomo like.. Chris loves himself and will not accept that he cannot bring viewers so will blame the system around him. Very Sam Champion like story leaving GMA to go to TWC only for his show to BOMB in the ratings. Now back to local news working 4a-1p at 60+ years old. Maybe Cuomo can anchor local news next? That honestly wouldn't be a bad gig for him.
  4. LOL.. no! But he was an inspiration for that post..
  5. What year is he getting his suites from? By mistake hit this channel and WOW! Not sure what he said..Couldn't hear or see anything but this!
  6. YES! Broadcast syndication fees can be enormous and if you're not yielding a strong enough rating to recoup station loss then you might as well run news since you have salaried employees there (anyway). Most stations get away without hiring additional staffing. The state of linear TV is NOT good in case you've been living under a rock ..
  7. Cheaper to run news! It's a money grab (if they can find advertisers to buy at 4am) Otherwise they will package it in with digital sales. There are no ratings at 4am and national is easier to run --If you have the network programming. Otherwise, it's expensive to run "The Jefferson's" as a leadin to 5am news or in this case 4:30a
  8. NBC 10 won the demo at 4\5am tied FOX for 2nd at 6am and tied for 1st with FOX again from 7-9. 6ABC won demo at 6am. At 11pm they came in 2nd and 6abc was #1 with an impressive 2.0 so not sure why they are promoting they were number one.
  9. and... you're wrong again! Just stop posting because you have no clue how local news works https://t.co/HHxrW05s2W
  10. Wrong... Young and talent doesn't last in small markets not large markets. Again KYW\CBS O&Os run a young and cheap operation. I can speak from experience on that one knowing what positions offer and who accepts them vs who doesn't. Salaries are considerably less and they rather try and train vs bring in seasoned talent. You need seasoned talent on the streets for I-pieces who know how to work and manage sources and have the experience handling a complicated situation\story that occurs in a large market vs a smaller market. But what do I know.. I only have 30 years in the business
  11. Every hire they make is for budgetary reasons (cheap). Younger and younger is less and less appealing to the news consumer! Market 4 is not a starter market and KYW is a prime example of what NOT to do in a DMA like Philadelphia. Doesn't matter if you have fancy sets\graphics\music ...It's the people on the screen that viewers care about.

  13. Dude we got it after your 2nd post in a row. Too bad you're the minority seeing as WPVIs 10pm on PHL still hasn't beat them at 10 and mornings are profitable for them. If you need someone to say good night call your mom.
  14. Can you elaborate? What are the "a lot of problems"? If it's purely ratings based then one of them is in a much harder spot than the other. Fox GDP hit #1 for 7-9a during May '18 book and and their 10p product is #1. Can't say the same about the other network. KYW is dead last in every time period. From a monetary standpoint weak news operations are able to make up lack of ratings\AD sales during prime-time programming.
  15. KYW is on its 2nd News Director in 2 years.
  16. Look for radical changes coming to the AM show at CBS3. Early look at May book... they finished dead last in every half hour period.
  17. if there does...likely won't happen until after the May book. You'll more than likely see major changes at KYW involving their AM team
  18. Maybe the evening...They would have to hire from outside. But Good Day is typically #1\#2 typically so they will NEVER change that dynamic
  19. Would love to show to set the record straight .. but you cannot share propriatory data publicly at risk of being sued per agreements with the company! Only can express percentage growth ect.
  20. T 100% false.. None of you have the ratings you just GUESS. The article talked about only the 6pm. Fox is #3 in the market at 5pm and #1 at 10pm (beating Action News on PHL 17). Furthermore the 11pm on FOX was #3 beating KYW again!! The station is #1 in the mornings 6-10am.. which has been the case for several years. Riddle me this hot shot.. Would you add not only a weekend morning show but an 11pm show (which costs more money to staff) if you were not doing well???
  21. Ratings show KYW dead last in all MAJOR time periods for Nov\Feb sweeps. FOX #1 or #2 6a-10a for Feb '18 sweeps..
  22. Expect it to look quit similar to Atlanta's FOX O & O set.
  23. Refreshed look coming soon to FOX 29. See FOX DC and their updates..
  24. FOX consistently beats KYW (at 11pm) and ties NBC10 at 6pm and 10pm(11pm). The 5pm is gaining momentum lately and Good Day remains a powerhouse. Not sure where the "low ratings" idea is coming from.
  25. Fox is number 3 in the night news race and #1 and #2 between 7-10am ...#2 and #3 between 4-7am ... You apparently don't read the ratings. Also 30 years on the assignment desk with no promotion? Making 30K for 30 years...maybe an investment in a new career?
