Sheri station list is out. Some stations list times, others say “Coming soon.” In Charlotte she simply inherits Wendy’s old time slots (WSOC at 10am and the previous  day’s repeat at 6am on WAXN).  I would’ve liked to seen her move to WJZY at 11am, they need a talk show at that time to pair with Rachael Ray if they are going to keep her at 10am. The game shows could move to 1pm. Then WSOC could’ve moved Tamron to 10am and Dr. Phil to 3 and started a 4pm news. Oh well.

But she will be at a different time than Wendy in some markets such as Greenville-Spartanburg. Sheri will be at 2 on WHNS. Wendy was at 10. Wonder if they will be expanding their morning news? Also Wendy was at 3 on WACH but Sheri will be at 2, maybe Tamron moves to 3?

WHIZ is launching a Fox channel???

I saw that on the listings for Sherri.

  2. Earlier, I said that KPXJ got both Sherri and Jennifer.

Well, looks like KPXJ also got Karamo as well. Jennifer is airing at 2pm, Sherri of course is at 8am (Lord. 🤦🤦🤦

Karamo is gonna be on 21 at 10am. So, a 3pm newscast in Shreveport (which I personally enjoy btw) is perfectly fine but you couldn't replace the Doctor(s) with a full 3 hour morning newscast and put Sherri in a more decent slot??

I love Pointless! I'd watch it.

Idk what Pointless is but I can already tell you KPXJ would try to pair it with Family Feud if it happened. And then you have KCWX that would want it in San Antonio.

I just happened to think, Mike and Molly might be leaving broadcast syndication. It currently airs on WBNX at 10 and 10:30 but it is not on their fall schedule. It could be moving to another station in Cleveland but more likely it is leaving syndication.

It is. It's not coming back and neither is 2 Broke Girls.

I think we're basically in a wait-and-see at the moment. David Zaslav and his team are doing an assessment of their assets. So it's going to be a slow roll for now. We know that Paramount is interested in selling their position in the CW because Paramount itself may be looking for new owners. Sale of the CW, for Paramount, helps their books look better, as does basically shuttering the London bureau. Also, having a long-term production contract with whomever buys the network looks good for Paramount's sale. However, because the CW is owned 50/50 by Paramount and DiscoveryWarner, there's effectively a 2-party consent rule for whomever buys out one or both owners.

My two cents is that I think David would be in a good position to buy out Paramount and sell a minority stake to Nexstar. I think the DiscoveryWarner catalogue is so big with mixed programming opportunities, that there's enough to flush out a whole first-run network and partner with Nexstar to develop network news programming on the CW, helping Nexstar find their footing with NewsNation and stabilizing CNN. Both cable networks are in desperate need of help and this could give them that opportunity by relying on each other.

Personally, I think it'd be the other way around. Paramount would and should keep the CW and just buy out WBD. Clearly, they don't want to be in the broadcast business.

I could be way off but the existing CW shows left could go to streaming and the CW as we know it might not necessarily shut down completely but could turn into something completely different. That lines up with this rumor I saw on Twitter.

See, the problem I have with believing this is, Warner doesn't produce or own distribution rights for every single CW show. What about the ones that originate from CBS, as well as any future CBS owned pilots in the pipelines? Those wouldn't go to Paramount? I'm hesitant to believe that this is the plan but then again, this has been speculation for months and we've never heard any official announcement. Besides, Warner would have been out of owning broadcast networks a long time ago had CBS not agreed to merge UPN with the WB. CBS at least owned some of UPNs stations. Most of the WB shows worth picking up would have likely jumped to UPN or TNT.  Paramount could easily run the CW (which may or  may not be renamed) by itself.

Honestly, based on all of the shutdowns and spinoffs that WBD has done (paring down content for TBS, TNT, selling off TMZ, Telepictures gradually putting out smaller output in general, among other things), I think it's only Warner that wants out of CW and not Paramount. Heck, by now, I'm expecting the announcement that Fox is buying the rest of Telepictures. But that's for another thread.

What a shame for that station but the money was fine for Ellis

Just watch as KAZA takes all of their syndicated programming and that newscast.

  8. I know KPXJ got both Jennifer Hudson and Sherri Shepherd. KMSS got Pictionary and The Neighborhood but idk what time slots they're airing in.

If I were 21, I'd air Hudson at 2pm just like WBNX and have Shepherd lead into her.  I don't know who got Karamo Brown, however.

Seeing the WBNX schedule is like Christmas morning! Neither I nor Google have heard of "iCrime with Elizabeth Vargas" -- anyone know anything?

    Me either.

  9. I'm in Shreveport and just now noticing Gray bought KBXS as well.....I always thought Gray would try to get a station here to be an independent but now, I'm having 2nd thoughts.

Ironically enough, Gray also has WBXH which years ago was also owned by L4.

A family member of mine frequently watches INSP.  If there is any religious content whatsoever I haven’t seen it.  It is just a male Lifetime now.  If they aren’t airing a western, they’re airing a rerun of something male/macho focused.  I’ve even seen what I can only describe as male Lifetime movies.

It basically runs whatever Westerns Grit doesn't run.

Noon and 4pm anchor Christina Watkins has left WDSU for sister station WESH, where she will be morning anchor. She went to WESH to be closer to family; she is an Orlando native.

    Weekend morning to clarify.

Another sign he's about to hang it up in original episodes? If thats the case, they'll pull a Judge Judy and keep the slots going with reruns!

NBC apparently has a replacement in development with Karamo Brown, who has guest hosted on a few eps recently. I remember reading that somewhere. Will update this post if/when I find the link.

New M&A. Gray is getting another LP.

They're getting KTEV-LD in Texarkana, AR from Buna Group, Inc. for $25K.

And I look at the contour and see how small it is. It doesn't even serve all of the city of Texarkana. Like central part of the city and areas north of it. Should they get the greenlight, I wouldn't be surprised if Gray replaces the antenna and have it at a greater reach in that vicinity.

I'm in this DMA and you're sure not lying. I didn't even know this station existed before today.

Does Nashville have a Spanish-language news operation? That could be a potential opportunity for WSMV to set up.

It's not like WSMV hasn't tried to go into the Spanish business before so this would be possible.... especially with NBC's fraternal Spanish-language twin.
