(This also brings to mind the CBS cuts a few years back. The Mendte/Lane shenanigans had to be a blessing in disguise for KYW. You lose the huge salaries they had with minimal blowback, and you have Chris May and Susan Barnett waiting in the wings. Plus Marc Howard had already retired.)

 

Considering the fact that CBS3 has nose dived back to the fifth place numbers that they had before Mendte jumped over to there, I don't think it was much of a blessing.

I applaud their efforts. Anything beats that one anchor format and Mendte ranting every night. I see improvement.

 

Ha! Well, look like you can applaud all you want but they are in the toilet. I will agree that they miscast Mendte. He shined when he anchored during Sandy and the Boston Bombings. They should have made him an anchor instead of those commentaries which sometimes seemed forced.
