Scripps announces Pickler and Ben are dunzo. They'll continue on in best-of until the Fall season starts https://www.tennessean.com/story/entertainment/2019/03/28/kellie-pickler-nashville-based-show-pickler-ben-dropped-scripps/3298414002/?fbclid=IwAR2sko6COrLhKQtdyCau-00Pdnu3MViqxIz95ESYVt9LCbOvDXngq471GUI

WUSA aired Dr. Phil at 10 this morning and WTVR aired Ellen. WNCN ran a special 10am newscast since the noon show was pre-empted.
-
So once this launches, WTTG will air weekday news from 4am-11am, 4pm-7:30pm, 8pm-8:30pm (via WDCA), 9pm-9:30pm (via WDCA), and 10pm-midnight. That's damn near the level of KTLA.

After Alex Trebek announced he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, longtime/former WRC morning anchor Joe Krebs announced he is battling it as well. His former co-anchor Barbara Harrison interviewed him. https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/health/Live-in-the-Now-Joe-Krebs-Fight-Against-Pancreatic-Cancer_Washington-DC-506848912.html?fbclid=IwAR3u4YNCLTbb8qsAbi1bckOKNP2uQtKge7e3ACjcQFZVdIHf5DEQO6G9Sn8

WNYW starts at 4:30.

From WJLA's Sam Ford: Lo I remember watching John's reports as a kid, he was mainly on the automotive beat.

Dress Larry up as Bozo and have Robin as his straight-laced sidekick.

Johnny Holliday and Ray Knight are no longer part of MASN's pre/post game coverage for the Nats. Former field-level reporter Dan Kolko was bumped up to co-host with Bo Porter. Replacing Kolko on the field will be Alex Chappell. She previously worked for ESPN & the SEC Network covering college football, as well as a similar position with Fox Sports Sun covering the Tampa Bay Rays under her maiden name Alex Corddry.

A couple weeks ago, David Crabtree made a statement on-air that he had been relieved of his duties as a Deacon at his church, due to an "inappropriate but consensual relationship", my guess with Crabtree is that he was involved with a married woman. As for Fishel, man this is a bummer for me. I used to love him when I lived in the Triangle, this news is simply baffling. Whatever it is, I hope he's okay. Here's a more in depth article from the Raleigh News & Observer https://www.newsobserver.com/news/local/article226198385.html?fbclid=IwAR1ddfIKyvrAVoMV2P8L3aBhIAlSQjCYHIFles_PI

Longtime WRAL Chief Meteorologist Greg Fishel is no longer with the station, effective immediately “I want to let viewers of WRAL know that you will no longer see me as a part of the WRAL News team. I know there will be many questions as to “why?” and I would like to share what I can with you. I have been facing many personal challenges over the last year, and these issues have impacted my ability to work effectively and professionally. I take full responsibility for my actions and intend on meeting these challenges head on. WRAL-TV has accepted my resignation.” https://www.wral.com

I was listening to Rover's Morning Glory on WMMS in Cleveland and a caller dropped a "R" and a certain homophobic word starting with F, it wasn't dumped but Rover did end the conversation.

Longtime WTTG anchor Tony Perkins announces his departure from the station. Perkins had worked at WTTG from 1993-1999 before leaving for a stint at Good Morning America, returning to WTTG in 2006 where he most recently worked on Friday & Saturday mornings. He will continue his afternoon drive radio show with the legendary Donnie Simpson.

That's what the arrangement was at WJLA when Doug Hill and Bob Ryan were there together. Doug typically did the noon and 5pm shows while Bob did 6 and 11pm, but working together during any kind of major weather outbreak.

https://ktla.com/2018/12/28/ktlas-weekend-news-team-remembers-chris-burrous/ here's Lynette's tribute. Assuming Lynette is in for tomorrow morning's show, I wonder if she'll be solo or have someone else with her? I know it's way too early to talk about a potential replacement, but I think Eric Spillman would be a fantastic person for the job, he's long overdue for a full-time anchoring gig.

Holy shit...

I decided to watch KTLA tonight and they led off the 10pm show with his death. No word on how he passed. https://ktla.com/2018/12/27/chris-burrous-beloved-ktla-anchor-dead-at-43/?fbclid=IwAR1GHy1TgR8CS0_RKvB5vb1RcaYz6l2bL-J2aNVNtR_tD0zDTIwMaknr15E

They had Beau Minnick for many years, he left earlier in the year for a gig with the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.

I miss the days of the bizarre FOX specials. When Bizarre FOX Specials Attack, tomorrow at 9! #JustOneFOX

Looks like she'll be moving across town again to FOX 5. I don't know where she would end up there, I'd imagine she would only want to leave WRC if she were up for a weekday anchor gig, much like Annie Yu leaving WTTG for WUSA. https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2018/12/18/look-whos-crossing-the-street-in-dc
-
When Ellen first started, she was on from 11am-noon on WRC and was later moved to her current 3pm timeslot when Dr. Phil moved over to WTTG and later WUSA.

I like Maurice, I think he'd do great.

Angie Goff leaving WRC effective today. I'm honestly surprised, I know she's definitely a viewer favorite here in DC, going back to her days across town at WUSA. https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/Angie-Goff-Says-Goodbye-to-News4_Washington-DC-502874451.html?_osource=SocialFlowTwt_DCBrand&fbclid=IwAR20wvwLO2nRBMEMWUjMc6FF6pFMYAsBx825V8j6Qmt91AMiuieA2YJkWSY
