Glad to see WGN is promoting from within, especially when you're taking over for a long time anchor like Steve Sanders. -

Glad to see WTVR promoting from within instead of trying to go with an outside hire. He had filled in for Nikki-Dee in the past when she was on maternity leave.

Meteorologist Nikki-Dee Ray will leave WTVR and take over the morning weather spot over at WTVF, her replacement will be announced on Monday morning. -
Rest in peace, Buck. He also spent a few years reporting across town at WJLA after leaving WUSA.

I figured this would happen, WTVR will launch a 4pm newscast in September to replace Steve Harvey. This newscast will compete against WWBT's longtime 4pm newscast, which recently expanded to an hour earlier this year.

I was somewhere locally with The AccuWeather Channel with their L bar - is the feed done locally or are there different feeds.
We get the local feed here, but I had a free trial of Fubo TV and they had the national version. My only complaint about the AccuWeather Channel is that they do little to no coverage of hurricanes.

After an absence of four years, The Weather Channel is back on Verizon FIOS channel 611. It had been replaced back in 2015 by The AccuWeather Channel, which will remain on channel 119 SD/619 HD

In an announcement that surprises no one, Angie Goff is named co-anchor of WTTG's new 4pm newscast slated to launch after the Women's World Cup. I remember Scott Jones saying shortly after she left WRC that she'd be going there and once the 4pm newscast was announced, along with the hiring of Blake McCoy, it all made sense. -
WUSA shifts meteorologists effective today.
Howard Bernstein will return to the weekday morning shows, shifting Miri Marshall to weekend mornings and Melissa Nord to weekend evenings. Nord and Marshall will split duties during the noon show during the week. Topper Shutt will retain his longtime chief meteorologist position. -

WRAL will launch a 9am newscast via WRAZ starting June 3rd, anchored by Ken Smith and Lena Tillet. WRAZ currently airs Steve Harvey in that slot.

I'm still interested in how WFMY gets away with airing the Central Time feed of CBS: TM.

As for the pop-news, I agree with you. GMA has gotten way too festivally for me and hard to watch. The adding of Strahan didn't help my opinion of that.
I was at the doctor's with my dad this morning and I caught the last 10 minutes or so of GMA. Wow, not the way I remember it being.- 1

WNBC's Jummy Olabanji returns home to the DC market, this time at WRC. Really glad to have her back, she was always one of my favorites when she was doing mornings at WJLA.

Retirement. It's a bad kept secret but that's what it is. Mel Showers will be retiring from WKRG. Not many anchors can claim to have worked for 50 years in just one station. Don Alhart and Dave Ward are the only ones I can think of right now.
If Jim Vance were still with us, I think he would still be doing the 6pm show on WRC. I know he stepped down from the 11 a year or so before his cancer diagnosis, but I'm pretty sure we'd still be hearing Vance telling us about the day at 6pm, damn I miss that man.

WTTG is adding a new 4pm hour in the spring, competing against WRC & WJLA.
They didn't announce an exact date. But could they be launcing before the May books?
So once this launches, WTTG will air weekday news from 4am-11am, 4pm-7:30pm, 8pm-8:30pm (via WDCA), 9pm-9:30pm (via WDCA), and 10pm-midnight.
That's damn near the level of KTLA. -

that's still only 10 hours, maybe they could try a Bozo reboot or just dig out Bozo reruns?

Regardless, that is rather shocking that they'd let the N-word slip without censorship on broadcast TV. Is that even allowed by the FCC?
I was listening to Rover's Morning Glory on WMMS in Cleveland and a caller dropped a "R" and a certain homophobic word starting with F, it wasn't dumped but Rover did end the conversation.
