  1. Nancy Loo leaving WGN Chicago for a west-coast based reporter position with WGN America's new newscast https://www.instagram.com/p/CADN1GLAe_p/?igshid=16ztm8o9z6j1m
  2. Glad to see WGN is promoting from within, especially when you're taking over for a long time anchor like Steve Sanders.
  3. https://www.wtvr.com/news/local-news/tom-patton-joins-cbs-6-this-morning Glad to see WTVR promoting from within instead of trying to go with an outside hire. He had filled in for Nikki-Dee in the past when she was on maternity leave.
  4. https://www.wtvr.com/news/local-news/nikki-dee-says-goodbye-to-richmond Meteorologist Nikki-Dee Ray will leave WTVR and take over the morning weather spot over at WTVF, her replacement will be announced on Monday morning.
  5. Rest in peace, Buck. He also spent a few years reporting across town at WJLA after leaving WUSA.
  6. I figured this would happen, WTVR will launch a 4pm newscast in September to replace Steve Harvey. This newscast will compete against WWBT's longtime 4pm newscast, which recently expanded to an hour earlier this year. https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2019/8/9/adding-more-news-in-richmond
  7. We get the local feed here, but I had a free trial of Fubo TV and they had the national version. My only complaint about the AccuWeather Channel is that they do little to no coverage of hurricanes.
  8. After an absence of four years, The Weather Channel is back on Verizon FIOS channel 611. It had been replaced back in 2015 by The AccuWeather Channel, which will remain on channel 119 SD/619 HD https://variety.com/2019/tv/news/wea...ns-1203247279/
  9. http://www.fox5dc.com/about-us/fox-5-staff/angie-goff-joins-fox-5-dc In an announcement that surprises no one, Angie Goff is named co-anchor of WTTG's new 4pm newscast slated to launch after the Women's World Cup. I remember Scott Jones saying shortly after she left WRC that she'd be going there and once the 4pm newscast was announced, along with the hiring of Blake McCoy, it all made sense.
  10. WUSA shifts meteorologists effective today. Howard Bernstein will return to the weekday morning shows, shifting Miri Marshall to weekend mornings and Melissa Nord to weekend evenings. Nord and Marshall will split duties during the noon show during the week. Topper Shutt will retain his longtime chief meteorologist position.
  11. WRAL names Mike Maze as their new chief meteorologist https://www.newsobserver.com/news/local/article230502839.html?fbclid=IwAR0AMxmJ7400gDlffQCWWOSSHBGu-_dOpmftevb9WlTjR-rexmPTa6wSEpk
  12. WRAL will launch a 9am newscast via WRAZ starting June 3rd, anchored by Ken Smith and Lena Tillet. WRAZ currently airs Steve Harvey in that slot. https://www.newsobserver.com/entertainment/article225333300.html
  13. I'm still interested in how WFMY gets away with airing the Central Time feed of CBS: TM.
  14. I was at the doctor's with my dad this morning and I caught the last 10 minutes or so of GMA. Wow, not the way I remember it being.
  15. WNBC's Jummy Olabanji returns home to the DC market, this time at WRC. Really glad to have her back, she was always one of my favorites when she was doing mornings at WJLA. https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2019/5/2/back-to-dc
  16. If Jim Vance were still with us, I think he would still be doing the 6pm show on WRC. I know he stepped down from the 11 a year or so before his cancer diagnosis, but I'm pretty sure we'd still be hearing Vance telling us about the day at 6pm, damn I miss that man.
  17. WGCL Chief Meteorologist Paul Ossmann out effective immediately https://www.ajc.com/blog/radiotvtalk/exclusive-cbs46-drops-chief-meteorologist-paul-ossmann/8fYUseOlWmfNkEkCsaaHoJ/?fbclid=IwAR2qVH0TCJgwuJZfPO2_s63UoaieVDzR6li13EYyoxJx_bfAXCGFS2tSkwc
  18. https://www.newsobserver.com/news/local/article228837599.html?fbclid=IwAR2XSLvnod05EywzFlv-uqZFKncJDhkNoa4_JepnpYPY9r62_5aQKqy_yTw&fbclid=IwAR14djG17XK3DpI86NSv4HsAyHbiUCHtjZpciLTxnnw54SFf443NyW8afpY Yet another departure at WRAL due to a "personnel matter".... what the hell is going on?
  19. Scripps announces Pickler and Ben are dunzo. They'll continue on in best-of until the Fall season starts https://www.tennessean.com/story/entertainment/2019/03/28/kellie-pickler-nashville-based-show-pickler-ben-dropped-scripps/3298414002/?fbclid=IwAR2sko6COrLhKQtdyCau-00Pdnu3MViqxIz95ESYVt9LCbOvDXngq471GUI
  20. So once this launches, WTTG will air weekday news from 4am-11am, 4pm-7:30pm, 8pm-8:30pm (via WDCA), 9pm-9:30pm (via WDCA), and 10pm-midnight. That's damn near the level of KTLA.
  21. After Alex Trebek announced he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, longtime/former WRC morning anchor Joe Krebs announced he is battling it as well. His former co-anchor Barbara Harrison interviewed him. https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/health/Live-in-the-Now-Joe-Krebs-Fight-Against-Pancreatic-Cancer_Washington-DC-506848912.html?fbclid=IwAR3u4YNCLTbb8qsAbi1bckOKNP2uQtKge7e3ACjcQFZVdIHf5DEQO6G9Sn8
  22. From WJLA's Sam Ford: Lo I remember watching John's reports as a kid, he was mainly on the automotive beat.
  23. Dress Larry up as Bozo and have Robin as his straight-laced sidekick.
  24. I was listening to Rover's Morning Glory on WMMS in Cleveland and a caller dropped a "R" and a certain homophobic word starting with F, it wasn't dumped but Rover did end the conversation.
