  1. Instead of doing that, we should just ban ABC selling speculation in this thread until there are actual rumors suggesting that ABC might be sold.
  2. I can safely say this with 100% certainty. Nothing radical is going to happen to Disney.
  3. yet as long as the owner keeps putting cash into the furnace, NewsNet will continue for the foreseeable future. I don't understand why people don't just give up or think about it before going into this business.
  4. damn... can't believe they couldn't get the symbols right... this really looks like some guy wanting to break into the real news business but doesn't understand that real news is not about sets or anchors but about content and reporting. Newsey > NewsNet.
  5. NewsNet is a joke, how does it stay on the air anyway?
  6. @Eat News no offense but when Milo appears in a selfie with the news anchor for a far-right news diginet, that's generally a bad sign.
  7. I honestly thought there was a thread regarding this... Must of been my imagination.
  8. Damn... When MSNBC has higher ratings than CNN you know CNN has failed.
  9. Actually, I would like for all cable news networks to go away... They serve no logistical purpose other than to pollute the mainstream cycles with garbage and to blatantly grab for ratings. There is zero integrity with any of the news channels. MSNBC if they can convert to the NBC News Channel maybe, but yeah; I said what I said.
  10. I'd be damned if this eventually turns out to the the "Trump News Network" that people have feared. I know we got Fox News and ANN but Fox News has doubters in it's staff and ANN is Fox News circa 2008. Eric Wolita is dangerous imo.
  11. I know they may be perfect to own them but why does Sinclair have to own everything? I don't like supporting Trump businesses.
  12. I expect this to be if "The Root" had a TV station. Better than CNN, MSNBC but with the same biased, malicious slant as the two. Fox News you know who you are.
  13. Eh. The only reason why TEGNA along with Scripps have gone downhill is because they're too focused on trying to solve the issue of "how do we take our traditional newscasts and make them appeal to younger viewers". What Nextstar and Gray realize is that by making "subtle" changes, they can appeal to both the traditional and youth markets, TEGNA and Scripps don't really grasp the situation they're in. I'd go even further that all TV station groups (even the O&Os) will go downhill to the point where there is no recovery. Internet has replaced TV as the go to source for news unfortunately and there's no way of stopping it.
  14. When your main reporter wears a MAGA hat. You know NewsNet is a big sham designed to make money in questionable ways.
  15. tbh, NewsNet is like watching a train accident happen in real time. If he can't even run a TV station well what makes you think he can run this?
  16. Just. Stop. We don't need this type of junk on TVNT. We don't need you to say that we're capable for speaking on our own, he was just doing a nice gesture on behalf of all of us that we're grateful for because he does a lot of work for this forum in an unofficial fashion. Stop your shick or leave. You don't have to do either but you're becoming really annoying now.
  17. I literally hate InvisionBoard. XenForo was way better.
  18. They didn't "lose him". NBC just moved him to another one of their O&O stations.
  19. Pinnacle and that graphics package were the best thing KSTP/KSAZ had in 1993. It was ahead of it's time both figuratively and literally.
  20. One word, money. Sinclair offered the most promising offer to Albittron.
  21. Latino's can speak English too; the thing about Hispanics/Latinos is that they have more money, can make more influential changes and as a market, are easier to approach. (ala niche) I also agree that it's flawed as well; I will laugh if they're forced to sell WJZY/WMYT after spending alot of money to get into Charlotte but for now; it works for them if they're smart enough.
  22. It doesn't make sense for networks to buy stations anymore. Especially considering there's no need to when your network affiliates are paying for the privilege to carry your programming. It may have been cool to have an O&O in Washington but the other stations, it was going to be a hassle to sell them off. Especially if you're Disney. It makes sense for Telemundo to buy O&O's (but not NBC) because let's face it. Latino's are a hot growing market and if you can be in the positions of many hot spots (like Tuscon) than it'll make you a whole lot of money. It also makes some sense for Fox because Football makes them money; but that's if they're smart enough to keep NFC rights.
  23. Man you have poor taste in news opens; while the CBS 2 may be a bit wonky; it's ambitious and a relic of it's time. NBC 10's is just fun, especially the theme which is one I want to see publicly posted if the time comes.
