  1. I imagine he'll be the secondary (assistant?) sports director at 12 behind Coop.
  2. The spectrum auction has claimed its next victim: WBIN. The station will go off the air and NH1 News will be radio and digital only. WMUR will once again be New Hampshire's only television news source. http://www.nh1.com/news/WBIN-TV-sold-in-FCC-Auction-NH1-News-to-invest-in-new-digital-platforms/
  3. I highly doubt Hearst would be interested in WVII, considering that it is by far the last-placed station in what would by far be Hearst's smallest market. Sinclair could make the move though, because...Sinclair. Whomever purchases WVII would have to put a fairly large investment into the station considering that they don't even have a weather department. And, in WABI's case, better music. CBS Local, anyone?
  4. Wouldn't be surprised. I almost think that Aroostook County (or, for you Mainers, "The County") could be folded into the Bangor DMA considering that WAGM is (and, considering that DMA's size, always will be) the only commercial station in the market.
  5. They tried to, but I thought that sale fell through.
  6. I think it's because not only was KLAS' previous theme done by 360, that theme was commissioned by KLAS. The two probably have a good relationship.
  7. More information on KFSN 2014 thanks to the NMSA: It's being called "ABC30 News" by DreamArtists Music, who has also composed music for the network itself. Makes sense considering KFSN is an O&O.
  8. It's all of them, apparently. This is a big problem in Boston considering that Spectrum is the main cable provider for Worcester and central Mass, and none of the 3 stations carrying NBC Boston (WBTS, WNEU or WMFP) cover the area decently enough.
  9. Add Hearst vs AT&T to that list.
  10. Danielle Gersh is leaving WHDH and going back to Cali. Good riddance IMO; I strongly believed she was hired for eye candy and nothing else. Which is totally something WHDH would do. EDIT: Just as an underqualified met leaves, another one comes. Gersh's replacement will be Wren Clair, coming from WJFW in Rhinelander, WI. Keep it up Mr. Ansin, see how well it works for you.
  11. Here's the stations yet to switch (stations that have switched since this post are crossed out): WCVB KCRA WTAE WBAL WISN WYFF WGAL KETV KCCI
  12. WMUR has picked up the new website.
  13. About time. Scranton / Wilkes-Barre is the largest market with only two news departments ever since WYOU shut theirs down in 2009. That title would become held by Syracuse if this happens. Interesting M&A on Wednesday: it appears Price Hill Television is selling low-powered NBC affil WRDE in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware (and serving Salisbury, Maryland) to SagamoreHill. EDIT: It's not an M&A. Apparently Price Hill and SagamoreHill are the same company; near the bottom it reads: "THE OWNERSHIP OF PRICE HILL TELEVISION, LLC AND SAGAMOREHILL OF SALISBURY LICENSEES, LLC IS IDENTICAL." Sorry for the false alarm.
  14. And to everyone's surprise: they did NOT change their branding to Local 2 News as far as I can see. The logo is the same, too, apart from some minor changes to make it look better with the graphics.
  15. I feel as if in saying that you're suggesting that ABC in Providence should move off of WLNE and onto a subchannel of WJAR.
  16. KQTV is being sold to Bob Prather's USA Television along with the aforementioned WTHI and WFFT, as well as KIMT. So if KQTV is getting a refresh it won't be made by Nexstar.
  17. It had better be a refresh; WTWO has now become Nexstar's ugly duckling since KMID and WMBD have both been refreshed.
  18. Fixed. As long as WEWS doesn't change much else, News 5 is fine with me. To be honest, I kinda like the ring "News 5, On Your Side" has.
  19. I'm not all too surprised. Jason was being seen less and less on WEWS to the point where he only does noon and weekends, and WOIO has been looking to replace Jeff Tanchak especially since the change from 19 Action News to Cleveland 19 News. I think he's a good meteorologist; he'll do very well at 19.
  20. After two decades, Kelley Tuthill is leaving WCVB.
  21. NBC is NOT moving stations in PDX. KGW is one of NBC's strongest affils owned by one of NBC's strongest station groups, and they just reupped with the network not too long ago.
  22. Hopefully such a plan would not include WPVI. Besides EWN still sounds good on most of the stations that it's used on.
  23. Finally! That sounds great. Now I need to find out who did this new theme for KFSN. For some reason I thought they could be the same composer, but I guess not.
  24. I like the first one especially since WKBN and WYTV used to have myvalleyweather.com and myvalleysports.com before their websites were redesigned.
  25. For a minute I thought they stole WKYC's logo for the chopper.
