  1. WGNX ID [now WGCL] in 1989 WGCL ID 20/21 KOCO- ID 1994 WTVR ID 1995
  2. KSAT 12 Isis Romero is out!
  3. I mean those VHF stations from 2-13 have been popular in so many markets. I just can't imagine 12WKRC in Cincinnati or WSFA Channel 12 in Montgomery. As well WTHR & WVEC being on Channel 13. People growing up in these markets before the current state of television always knew the Channel number & call letters. I guess I'm so used to a station being called by the number. Even when a station ie. WKLY doesn't even use the "32" in their branding. It annoys me, but one thing for sure is every market is different. Huntsville, Alabama as well on the UHF island as well too?
  4. I hope they don't become ABC 28 News so boring and generic. They should insert "28" next Action News.
  5. Cox stations aren't doing 7pm news and E.T is very stable on WSOC, WHIO, WSB so that not happening.
  6. Jeopardy! Was moved to 4:30pm then Brenda Wood at the time would do a run down of the stories that was coming up at 6pm- then they would go into Dr. Phil at 5pm. But the 7pm news did return this time on WATL. Columbus, OH has (2) 7pm news on NBC & ABC going up against WoF & Jeopardy! Cleveland, OH also has (2) 7pm news on NBC & FOX up the game show on now CBS. Cincinnati, OH 7pm news on ABC and FOX has the two game shows. Even some FOX affiliates are cashing in big with the two popular game shows. WBFF & WXIX seem to have snagged a big piece of the ratings pie. In WBRC's early days carried the two game shows before the two shows ended up on two different stations. However, in Albuquerque/Milwaukee both CBS affiliates & Mobile/New Orleans' FOX affiliates aired the shows, but how they sandwich it in their local newscast is good strategy. here a good website about the (2) games shows- https://buyavowel.boards.net/thread/13099/breakdown-wheels-network-time-frequencies
  7. WADL could of been CBS, but wasn't happy with CBS terms back in 1994.
  8. So do you think many stations will air reruns of Judy? Despite it's very popular amongst senior citizens. My grandfather that his much see tv. I wonder if the FOX O&Os will continue to air Judy or sandwich her in. Once Oprah and Judy moved off the air waves there really isn't a new #1 syndicated show that ppl are watching. Ellen's ratings are down and she in her final stages of her farewell season. Drew Barrymore her show is a big snooze- the landscape of daytime tv is very, very, very lite.
  9. Dari was a mess before going to NYC. I remember she was once on WCMH and did weekends and she still had that aloof look. She always been like that.
  10. KTRK ABC 13's Ilona Carson stepping down from anchoring, but will stay on in other capacities at ABC 13.
  11. 11ALIVE NEWS on WXIA-TV Morning Rush 5am-7am[ hate these stupid TEGNA morning names] Aisha Howard, Chesley McNeil, Crash Clark Noon: ? 5pm: Shiba Russell & Cheryl Perheim 6pm: Jeff Hullinger & Cheryl Perheim 11pm: Ron Jones & Jennifer Bellamy on WATL Ch 36 7pm & 8pm: Jeff Hullinger & Shiba Russell 9pm & 10pm: ? Hope this helps you out...
  12. According to Rodney Ho...- Shiba will anchor 5pm,[WXIA] 7pm, 8pm [WATL] Aisha Howard will move to mornings Jennifer Bellmany will anchor 11pm with Ron Jones. https://www.ajc.com/life/radiotvtalk-blog/11alive-swaps-times-for-anchors-shiba-russell-aisha-howard-jennifer-bellamy/AJIZTMKUEBDNVNGWRM565LJGOY/ Then Matt Pearl is leaving 11alive & Nicole Carr leaving WSB. https://www.ajc.com/life/radiotvtalk-blog/matt-pearl-leaving-11alive-after-12-years-nicole-carr-departs-wsb/BJSAEQQ3NVELTM2KLYECADWBDI/
  13. ...But KHOU 11 is saying something different at 10pm
  14. Don't hold your breath on WFMJ TV 21. They been riding high with Oprah as their lead-in and then Ellen at the 5pm hour. Youngstown a small market and dying city. I can only imagine the lead story about the Mob running Youngstown or a mob crime boss body found floating in Mahoning River. With Judy leaving they probably will put Ellen back at 5pm as a lead-in or move Dr. Phil at 5pm and Ellen at 4pm.
  15. You could see the writing on the wall. Where stations were doing 5am morning news. I said 4:30am will come and FOX affiliates will get the 9am slot of more news. I do feel they will continue to make more cheaper syndicated programs that will last 1-2 seasons. And find another show and that will be the cycle. The future can't be a station that affiliated with 4 networks having local news all day long with no syndicated programming? The schedules are definitely no longer like the 1990s.
  16. Yeah, WPEC & KSNV both have an hour long 3pm news.
  17. Ken Rodriguez at FOX 5/WAGA-TV in Atlanta made a Facebook announcement.
  18. Very true! WDJT has actually made some big leaps and it Wheel/Jeopardy combo at 6 & 6:30pm beats some of the other 6pm newscast. Despite the woes of the transition of looking for new CBS affiliates back then of WDJT, WGCL & WOIO. They all at least were able to find their footing and get a newscast going. Nobody can't say that to the CBS O&O WWJ now.
  19. Despite WBNS being under TEGNA misfortunes- the people in Columbus still watches 10TV and their still #1 in the ratings. Despite Columbus being market #33 it not like Cleveland & Cincinnati where it has (4) newsrooms. 10TV still leads. No it not the family owned station it once was, but the people still watches 10TV. WSYX & WCMH fighting for #2. Again all three newsroom have low bar ownership- Nexstar, Sinclair, TEGNA which sucks! I've always believe Columbus should be a (4) newsroom market, but it sad how Sinclair owns way too much. For years WSYX made alot of money for Sinclair, but I wouldn't say Kendrick is best anchor in town. He up there but not the #1. Ludlow does have history and McMuffin ok, but he not chief meteorologist material. I do agree Yolanda Harris should've stayed at WSYX. I was told many people told her not to jump to WBNS- because it was only a matter of time before the Wolfe Family sold the station. She saw it as the legacy 10TV and they pony up the money for her to jump ship.
  20. I truly doubt it has anything to do with Sinclair being the GOP besties. Yes, DC is very blue town. However, after how Sinclair dumped Maureen Bunyan & Leon Harris which were (2) prominent black talent in the market. One could think it has to do with the company politics. Sinclair has gotten lucky over the years by getting Allbritton, Fisher, Freedom and other companies leftovers. Sinclair has always been a mediocre company with lack luster stations. Now the company hit the big time by getting KOMO-TV & WJLA-TV their two biggest markets ever. They've been doing every tv station on the cheap side and never had a clue how to run a tv station in a big market. WJLA was able to beat WUSA9 and hit #1 at 5 &6pm under the old ownership. They will never be #1 under Sinclair, and when WTTG & WUSA product isn't the best but can pull better numbers than WJLA it said alot. Sinclair wouldn't be a bad company if they didn't have so much baggage in tote. Hands down WRC/ News 4 has the best news in the market and no wonder it wins! As for WSYX their best days is behind them and they haven't had a chance since they were owned by Taft Television & Radio Company since the 80s. They've been owned by privately equity companies. AnchorMedia, River City. The day Sinclair purchase WSYX was a sad day. Yeah they have some good people, but the product not all that great, but it as mediocre as it parent company.
  21. In the good old days you watch a newscast they would announce the anchors at the top of the newscast opening while the music would play as the music is playing. I myself like the opening of a newscast of the anchors at the start of a newscast. I don't mind it after the first commercial break, but definitely miss those anchors turning their face with a smile -with their name at the bottom of the screen. Those were the days!
  22. That the problem because there just too much generic creativity. I agree with you!
