1. WOIO 10 yr Anniversary from FOX to CBS
2. Radio, in Atlanta, Yes, I can see that, but V-103, NO! Staff too heavy, and CBS is getting out of radio I see more cuts @ V, I don't see that happening. I see her going to any of the (3) outlets in TV, or radio, PR. Idk, just speculating-
3. Newsblues Headline Today Atlanta anchor says she's joining NBC in Philly----Sounds like Erin Coleman going WCAU.
4. in 1994 FOX was moving from WOIO to WJW-TV8 More WJW promos switching to FOX
5. Maybe Lisa Rayam, going to WSB, but Stephany Fisher joining FOX 5 has been speculation, so at this moment until a press release, or somebody close to any camp has any info it just speculation. Erin Coleman going WCAU, it probably true, but if they're trying to save money why not have Jacqueline London anchor all the newscast on WCAU? 4,5,6,11? I guess that unheard in a top 10 market?
6. Or what about FOX in Philly? Hmm. you never know, right?
7. I would rather have Jedediah over Paula and the rest stay the same. Whoopi, Joy, Sunny, Sara and Jedediah so you can balance it out to have a conservative. Paula, just drives me crazy.
8. I think it would be a good move, but didn't know they had a 3pm news or 3pm local program " 2 NEWS The Refresh" followed by Jeopardy and move Wheel to 6:30. ET could move over to KJZZ...Sounds like what they should do, but who knows.
9. Dennis Swanson has left FOX http://www.ftvlive.com/todays-news/2016/6/14/fox-oo-executive-leaves-the-firm
10. Again, I said if ABC really wants to sell, and it goes back to where Robert Iger said in print that they were entertaining the idea to sell their O&O. So, it a crap shoot, but nothing in present day broadcasting business is set in stone. There always the unknown to anything, and nothing ever last forever.
11. That always been the inside buzz that Scripps & ABC would merge. Scripps always a had a great relationship with ABC, and leverage it two legacy stations in order to do some network shuffles in the 90s. WXYZ would rejoin being an ABC O&O. Fast Forward now, Scripps has turned into a cookie cutter product just like so many other broadcast companies. ABC rakes in alot of money from their O&O stations, but really want to sell their stations, but why when they're raking in huge dollars. My hope would be to see Cox & Scripps could merge where Cox holds the broadcasting stations & Scripps do the cable/syndication part. I would also like to see Cox buy ABC out if they really want to get out of the business of owning local stations. I can see Cox being the winner on both sides of the story.
12. WXYZ/ ABC Detroit has a new ND Rhonda LaVelle comes from KPRC in Houston. http://www.ftvlive.com/todays-news/2016/6/6/motown-station-names-new-nd @ns8401 What you think? Waiting to get your take?
13. It been said they're trying to get to the 20th season, and been said that this could be possibly their last season with this show. The View is apart of ABC NEWS division, and it wouldn't be surprise if they ax the show to move in Good Morning America 9am version or Good Afternoon America. Ben Sherwood wants that so bad because of Today being on for 4 hours. I don't see them giving that hour back to the affiliates. I see ABC keeping it to get another show that less expensive to produce. That's soo true, but it be nice to work her hours and get paid that amount of money though.
14. Why is it ridiculous? Matt Lauer allegedly get paid $28 million dollars. Has been reported that Robin Roberts get paid 14 million. Hey, you can't knock what somebody else is getting. That means they have good agents to get them that kind of deal.
15. I'm thinking if Meredith doesn't get it act together(Yeah right) they could just sell it to CBS and create a combo with 46/69 under the CBS umbrella. However, I think Meredith wants to merge with another media company. Idk maybe Hearst or Graham. Time will tell on how CBS 46 goes through so many managers throughout the years.
16. News Director Larry Perret & Senior EP out at WGCL/CBS Atlanta; Frank Volpicella steps in as new ND coming from KVUE in Austin. http://www.ftvlive.com/todays-news/2016/5/31/blowout-in-atlanta http://radiotvtalk.blog.ajc.com/2016/05/31/yet-another-cbs46-news-director-departs-this-time-after-20-months/
17. In Atlanta, I'm looking at the shape of the demographics and if you look at all (4) stations it's the same white male/black female. I think that what has been their thing. First, is Stephany coming to WAGA? Second, with Lisa Rayam leaving or whatever the case maybe Stephany, will move into the 6pm anchor desk. Cynne already does the 10pm with Russ. I'm just looking at what has been the norm for that market in particular. Nobody, know how anything will shape out. Again, it just my opinion, and not written in stone. We've seen stations streamline talent and moving them away from sports to news. Jeff Hullinger former sports anchor at WAGA now lead anchor at WXIA and does sports there too. Ken has a great personality, and if they were looking to find the right person to replace Russ. Ken, would be great at the job! He's great at doing live shots from whatever game he covering. Russ is a strong male anchor, and Ken also solid, but to me Tom doesn't seem as solid, and that just my opinion. The Edge has done well, but there are time ratings points fluctuate with the competition.
18. I was thinking that too, but usually when the giants in Atlanta retire they try to stay in the market. Monica Kaufman (Pearson)- Jovita Moore. Amanda Davis -Cynne Simpson she had worked at rival station. Brenda Wood I totally seeing TEGNA trying to get Jaquitta Williams who worked at two other stations in the market. I think the current news director at WXIA worked with Williams at WSB. However anything is possible, and WXIA/ with TEGNA plays fast and loose. The Atlanta market, they like familiarity and most of all the talent in that market have either stayed at the same shop or jump around, but for the top 10 market it not like NYC, LA, or Chicago. I don't see that. I see Stephany Fisher anchoring the 5pm &11pm and Cynne at 6 &10PM, but I wouldn't be surprise if FOX 5 move into the 4:00PM real estate with news. There several changes they can continue to make. Russ Spencer been with WAGA for 20 years and FOX is looking at makes cuts too. Ken Rodriguez would be Russ' replacement one day. Ken can move into anchor role, and move Ron Gant off Good Day into evening sports. Tom Haynes move him up to Good Day.
19. Scott Taylor leaving WOIO/ Cleveland for WJLA/in D.C. in July. http://www.ftvlive.com/todays-news/2016/5/16/cleveland-investigative-reporter-heads-to-dc
20. Did you read Rodney Ho's report today in the ajc.com?
21. You're cracking me up, but Justin Farmer does come off as a robot (douche bag) news personality. Nepotism isn't great?
22. WISH-TV/Indianapolis' News Director (Elbert Tucker) is leaving and is headed to WKRN/Nashville. http://www.ftvlive.com/todays-news/2016/5/5/indy-nd-leaving-after-a-year
23. Frank Mallicoat is moving over to KTVU on Weekends Mornings. http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/former-kpix-anchor-joins-ktvu/169586 http://richliebermanreport.blogspot.com/2016/04/mallicoat-to-co-anchor-weekend-mo2-on.html
24. Another one out at FOX 5/ WAGA in Atlanta. Lisa Rayam contract not renewed. http://radiotvtalk.blog.ajc.com/2016/05/02/exclusive-fox-5-not-renewing-lisa-rayams-contract/ @TVNewsLover What you think?
