  1. You can skip ahead to the end, but the FCC has some bad news for Nexstar regarding WPIX. https://docs.fcc.gov/public/attachments/FCC-24-34A1.pdf
  2. I heard there were some creative services layoffs at our local Gray station. That was one place where Gray tried to staff up after Meredith cut the station to the bone.

This guy's stories would appear on the FOX Edge feed occasionally. He was only 33.
  4. Alena Lee is leaving KCTV. https://www.instagram.com/p/C0r-UaKAwMc/
  5. Dia Wall is heading to WFAA.
  6. The article is pretty short. It did not name stations or have quotes from anyone. A potential deal would use private debt market. Allen Media Group owns Entertainment Studios Inc., The Weather Channel and several network-affiliated stations. It has previously turned to the broadly syndicated debt markets to fund acquisitions, including its purchase of Honolulu’s KITV and stations owned by Quincy Media. It’s considering private credit — where debt is held by just a few lenders and is not typically bought and sold — as some of its obligations have struggled. The company’s term loan is quoted at around 88 cents on the dollar, according to data compiled by Bloomberg, while its $650 million of 10.5% bonds change hands at distressed levels, according to Trace.
  7. She is out of the business. She went into P.R. for a school district and sued the TV station for discrimination (moved to federal court, not sure where it stands now).
  8. Christel Bell returns to the air after vocal cord paresis. https://fox4kc.com/news/fox4s-christel-bell-chronicles-medical-condition-recovery/
  9. Yeah, I noticed too. It looked like they imported stingers and transitions but not the full template. My apologies.
  10. One of my managers is a former Sinclair ND. It's all anyone could talk about today. Tulsa is not a small market and KTUL, I think, was in second place.
  11. The king is retiring next February. https://wgntv.com/news/chicago-news/tom-skilling-to-retire/
  12. I think she might have been married to his son of the same name. I have seen previous articles in which she described her upbringing as being part of a family that "evangelized all nations." She also tweeted about Ernest Angley previously.
  13. Another day, another lawsuit: https://www.kansascity.com/news/local/article279512624.html A former multimedia sports journalist for KCTV5 has filed a federal lawsuit against the news station’s parent company, claiming he was discriminated against due to his race. Adam Orduna of Overland Park filed the lawsuit Monday in U.S. District Court in Kansas City, Kansas, against Gray Media Group Inc., which does business in Kansas City as KCTV5. Orduna is the third KCTV5 journalist to file a discrimination lawsuit against the television company in the last four months.
  14. This popped into PACER the other day. Here's a paywalled article on meteorologist Erin Little suing KCTV and Gray. https://www.kansascity.com/news/local/article279111029.html
  15. I do not believe Cohen is being retained. KSWB's news director will oversee both.
  16. We have Spectrum at work, so it looks like we'll be using A.P. photos for that Missouri game.

I only saw this today, but the article is from two weeks ago. https://www.wlbt.com/2023/07/28/trailblazing-african-american-manager-who-led-wlbt-more-than-decade-dies/
  18. Former Wichita anchor advances to general election for Wichita mayor:
  19. After the pandemic started and people stayed home, we saw the biggest drop in audience at 4:00 a.m.. The midday news had the biggest increase. If remote work truly sticks, I would redirect 4:00 a.m. resources to middle-of-the-day content. And while it is not the desired demographic, the biggest TV watchers, the baby boomers, are mostly retired. My parents were early risers when I was a kid. Now my mom doesn't wake up before 7:30.
  20. It's not often that the anchor leaves for P.R., then comes back to TV news after less than a year. https://fox4kc.com/mornings/abby-eden-returns-to-fox-4/
  21. Morning anchor leaves KCPQ: https://www.fox13seattle.com/video/1248998
