It would appear that KSHB has hired Joel Nichols, the former morning meteorologist at KMBC in Kansas City that was there for 25 years. He would be the new host for their (somewhat disastrous) morning talk show "Kansas City Live" and the replacement for recently terminated Michael Mackie. It's also sort of funny, as that would mean KSHB technically has SIX meteorologists at the station. It'll be curious to see if he ever got back on air doing the weather again.

Am I the only one here that believes that GMA is stocking too much up on women and that they can't run a successful morning show with virtually all women at the helm? If the Today Show was more or less all women, people would think they were batshit crazy and give them hell for it. I don't see that as much for GMA.

So much for KSHB being able to brand themselves as having KC's largest weather team...

Many consider GMA to be filled with puff pieces and have a tabloid style, especially with their graphics, that doesn't come off as serious. In other words, one could argue that they've sacrificed hard news (and now apparently men) for lighter, softer news with an eccentric style in order to be/stay number one.

He says that "I’m proud of our continued success at ‘GMA,’ ‘This Week’ and ABC News, and I’m confident that will continue." While I don't doubt that, it doesn't mean that he's disappointed in the direction Good Morning America is heading. You can be proud that your team/organization has new-found success and is on top of the pack yet be disappointed in what it's done in order to get there and what it's doing to stay there.

But weren't both of those packages done by Hothaus?

WTF was with that weather graphic at the start there? They were obviously trying to give the effect of circling the doppler, but it failed miserably. (it was already going to since the doppler is rectangular shaped)

That's part of the point though, literally.

Frankly the very idea of television stations having drones under their own power is off-putting to me. Also, especially given the opinion on drones in general as of late, how do you think your viewers would respond to knowing that one of their local television stations has a drone?

KSHB debuted it too. About time. It's very nice...now they need to freaking upgrade their live stream.

It's happening again...! WTHR is expanding their morning news to 4am. http://www.mediabistro.com/tvspy/wthr-expands-morning-newscast_b114401 I remember when KSHB attempted this. It failed miserably. I can't imagine that WTHR's morning crew will be too happy about this.

Wait, there two different version there. Is the bug that's featured still their official logo and the one they use on air? It looks sooo tacky as it always has with that white box behind it. The new solid blue 4 is a VAST improvement (although yes, they could maybe add some type of black or white outline to it)

Don't forget Michelle Apon who left there to join KSHB as one their meteorologists.

Slowly pushing the knife into themselves further it seems.

Wait a minute. Why does installing a new set totally prevent them from airing a newscast?

Today could just do rid of the Orange Room period. Wasted studio space is what it is, really.

1) they're trying to give off the image of being "personal and connecting with the community" 2) probably just trying to give her more exposure. People seem to like Tamron Hall and she does occasionally sub on Today.

I'm pretty sure it is. Bottomline was practically the only source for reliable Kansas City media news until he stopped...but of course the only thing he ever really talked about is KMBC. He even admitted that he glorified them because they "deserved it." Anywho, I really don't think I'll like that Neville kid. His youth is painfully obvious, but then again, so is Michelle Apon's.
