  1. Yeah seriously. If they get rid of Matt now then to some it will look like the Ann Curry debacle except with Matt Lauer and under slightly different circumstances. Also hasn't the exodus from Today slowed down significantly? Anyway, what NBC is probably doing is using the remainder of Matt's contract to either find a replacement for him or groom up someone they might be interested in promoting to the position (Willie, Carson, whoever) over the next couple of years to make them as good as they can be and familiarize the viewers with them.
  2. Didn't this story first come from a tabloid source? Why did you guys take anything from a tabloid so seriously? They were probably just trying to stir up some controversy and get people talking, and it worked.
  3. Yeah...they might be local races, but they'll have national consequences. I don't agree with ignoring the midterm elections.
  4. Well the fluff has worked wonders for ABC! But you're right. The scene is about to change. NBC will figure things out eventually though.
  5. That's probably what it is. That desk is like half or more the size of their old one.
  6. Wow! That's surprising, but maybe also not. Shively was always Shen's primary replacement and the show always seemed to do better when she was on.
  7. I was gonna mention that, but didn't want to summarize the whole article. When I read that I thought, "yep, she was hired partially because of her looks. At least she was tactfully honest about it."
  8. Former WTXF traffic reporter Kacie McDonnell starts next week (presumably Monday) at KSHB in Kansas City as their traffic reporter. Also, according to the Kansas City Star, she has expressed an interest in reporting as well, which means we'll probably see her on the 11am news and occasionally the 5 and 6pm. KSHB will also debut their new set next Monday. McDonnell is girlfriend to KC Cheifs quarter back Aaron Murray. Disappointingly enough, her Facebook page is still being bombarded by rude, sour messages about her decision to move to KC.
  9. Just an observation, but the Scripps websites' margins are now a dark grey. Not too sure why a change needed to be made, but I suppose it draws your attention to the middle of the page more.
  10. That's EXACTLY what KSHB does and they get the same complaint. It must be a "required effect" type thing.
  11. What is going on over there?
  12. Personally I don't really mind the updates; it's the newsroom shots that I don't like. They're obviously fake. The old ones at least looked mildly realistic, but these it's just so obvious that it's being projected behind him.
  13. I think people are looking at ABC News on a whole and seeing it as a "new model for network news" because my goodness do people seem to be obsessed with ABC News here. If it's not obvious, I'm not a big fan of ABC News. I'd take NBC and CBS over ABC.
  14. I don't think I've ever seen this site so excited about an anchor change.
  15. I find everything KMBC does to be distracting.
  16. NBC is nervous about everything nowadays.
  17. Then you're in the minority. Given how close ABC is to NBC nowadays and how many times ABC has won the demo over NBC, logic is more willing to say that if anything, WNT will improve under David's tenure and finally send NBC to second place. The only way I see this not happening is if WNT somehow became even fluffier than what it is now.
  18. Who in the hell is that voice over? They sound like they're trying way too hard to sound deep and serious.
  19. Roland Steadham is leaving WPLG after only a year to become the chief meteorologist at KBOI, the CBS affiliate in...Boise, Idaho. Talk about a market jump. http://www.mediabistro.com/tvspy/roland-steadham-out-at-wplg-after-one-year-headed-to-boise_b127913
  20. "Managing" sounds like a weather producer to me
  21. KSHB has these cool personalized ones. If I had a tuner then I would show you all... Speaking of KSHB, they're building a new set. Construction started on Saturday and the old thing is already gone. I gots a thread goin in the Sets and Studio forum about it. Here's a question; how is KERO doing? We never hear anything about them and the last time I heard anything about them was when they got their new set a while back ago.
  22. Here. http://www.mediabistro.com/tvspy/kacie-mcdonnell-says-goodbye-to-wtxf_b126966#more-126966 I don't know why I didn't link to TVSpy first in the first place. I've never known KCRadio to report a bit of wrong information. Apon only did traffic after Demetria Obilor left after like, six months or something and she didn't do it every day. It's awkward having the anchors report on the traffic. And no, they don't have a male anchor currently (aside from their morning dude). Mark Clegg left the station at the end of July sweeps and they're looking for a replacement. They had their investigative reporter Ryan Kath anchor all of last week, so that was interesting.
  23. That was a nice close aside from that obvious and awkward cut at around :48
