  1. I'm curious to know what a punishment would be if FCC concludes they did?
  2. You 1000% missed the sarcasm.
  3. "Flying transportation machine flew into a building in New York City? Nah, not a big deal. I doubt people would be interested in that. Not like the city would still be sensitive to the idea of flying machines flying into buildings or anything. Carry on (but let me know if someone dies)."
  4. I wonder if they saw all the flack their Midwest colleagues have been getting and were trying to do whatever they could to avoid it.
  5. Will FSN be required to run Boris? I see it now. "Halftime with Boris."
  6. I miss the original big desk.
  7. I don't see the problem. Workplaces with animals are generally happier, less-stressed environments.
  8. It's been that way for a while buddy.
  9. KSHB's general manager resigned on Thursday after 6 years. Her last day is June 2. She probably would've been fired had she not resigned. There were two racial discrimination lawsuits (in short succession) that the station partially (but not totally) was found at fault for, the husband-wife anchor duo suddenly resigning, as well as numerous other turnover during her tenure. No one really wanted to stay there.
  10. FTVLive saying the station "decided to part ways" with the two is a stretch at best (but what else is new for him?). They have three kids that are all like, under the age of 5. They both worked primetime in TV news. How they ever had time to be with their kids is a mystery to me. Good for them though focusing on their children. I'm sure it was tough working their schedule with such young children.
  11. Ahhh yes! Metro Sports. Those were the days.
  12. Good look, but the first 30 seconds of that newscast is enough to make me want to change the channel. Shaky camera and the anchors seem a bit unsure of themselves. Plus, holding tablets looks d u m b. At least you can fold papers.
  13. Oh man, I wish they had brought back that 19 typeface for a second life.
  14. Orange is fine if implemented properly and in the correct region (desert, tropics). Scripps V1 wasn't implemented properly. 99% chance I'm rading too much into this, but is The Now actually getting the axe?
  15. KSHB reported on this case, to their credit.
  16. Two years? What have they been doing then? Well I'll be damned. Never knew that. Now I look at the Scripps pkg and see something bastardized.
  17. RenderON tends to be flashy, so I'm curious to see how they would do a "flat" look. You're probably the first person I've heard say that. They were good enough and aged well enough that multiple stations were trying to copy the look years after it came out.
  18. Fascinating, so there is some input from the stations (though I don't really expect news managers to have in-depth musical analysis skills).
  19. I'm actually very curious to know how this process works. Do they go to a company and say "hey, pimp my VizRT," and let them work their magic coming back with several concepts, or do they go to them with a set idea in mind and then tweak it as it's developed? Do they consult the stations (I highly doubt it) and ask opinions?
  20. There have been very subtle changes over the years, but I wouldn't mind seeing a complete makeover. That's probably more in line with Scripps' style.
  21. I don't want to anger the gods mods by getting so far off topic so I'll leave at this, but no not really. Lombardo is still making some money off of two of his three stations. If someone came up and offered him enough cash, sure he'd probably do it, but right now he seems to be content until he dies. Those Citadel stations would benefit greatly from a new owner though.
  22. KETV isn't available in much of the Lincoln market, specifically in the counties that border the DMAs. KLKN/Citadel has made sure of that. I believe KETV was recently taken off of Spectrum lineups in favor of KLKN exclusively (before you could get both). You can probably pull them in over the air, otherwise it's unlikely you'll get them. KETV/Hearst detest the very existence of KLKN because they take viewers and ad revenue that would otherwise go to them. The two affiliates don't talk to each other. KMTV doesn't really go out their way to try and complete with KOLN.
  23. Indeed, you can add at least KSHB to that list.
  24. People are cancelling because they're charging so damn much. It's a negative feedback loop. You raise prices, someone can't afford it so they drop it, cable companies lose money so they feel the need (I won't say 'have') to raise prices, someone can't afford it... I'm pretty young (early 20s). Most people my age don't have cable and the number one reason why is it's too expensive. What isn't being discussed, though, is that some people are buying streaming platforms that sometimes they're paying nearly as much if they just had cable. The difference is that they can cancel it whenever and bring it back whenever, no problem. Others refuse to pay. Why? Because it's too expensive.
