  1. Lara's deal is supposedly finished just not signed, wonder if she's waiting on Josh to see if she can get more money from her deal. If the team was to change at all, it would be Lara that I wouldn't mind losing if she was replaced by Amy. Josh however is a huge KEY to the shows success so hopefully they find a way to work this out.
  2. Really? I could be getting them confused but I remember Robin commending him for being able to come back from Miami and then commenting on how relaxed he looked after a few days vacation. Later in the day I watched Eyewitness News at 4 and they were commenting on how tanned Liz seemed after vacationing in Florida. Maybe I'm over thinking the two statements and it's just a big coincidence but it would be neat if those two were dating - I like them both a lot. I didn't even consider Ryan Smith but he's a good choice as well. I would also consider permanently adding Dan Abrams as to the show in a more expanded role, he's pretty funny with the team at times.
  3. They both took off Thursday and Friday a few weeks ago, their normal buzzing social media pages were quiet and they both returned that Tuesday to their on air co-host commenting on their new tans. Could be a coincidence.
  4. Josh is sticking around but if he was to leave then Amy is more than capable of handling the news. I do understand your point about a female heavy program and that brings up a good point but I don't see any other men at ABC that could come up and take the next spot on GMA.
  5. Haha that's actually been an ongoing discussion here but I always thought that George had somehow worked the anchoring position of World News into his contract once Diane stepped down however reading Brian Stelter's book George actually discusses how he enjoys GMA more than he thought he would and would like to do it for as long as he can so there could be a possibility that David replaces Diane. I'm just not a big fan of where Diane and David have taken the World News brand compared to the days of Peter, Charlie and even Bob/Liz. It's such a joke now that I tend to just watch Scott Pelley instead of Diane's variety show.
  6. I agree. The report says that if he jumps to NBC he would become a younger Bob Costas but I don't see NBC paying Josh anywhere close to $8 million for that especially when Bob Costas doesn't even make that much. Pretty sure Josh would slide into George's position once he moves to World News so I don't see why he would leave a bright future at GMA and ABC for any other network. Pretty sure the reports are just speculation.
  7. Cecily did good this weekend, i'm really not sure if they're looking for an all female weather team though. Also, PageSix is reporting that Josh Elliott and ABC are deadlocked regarding his new contract. According to the report, he only has 4 weeks left on his current contract and is demanding $8 million to stay, while ABC is offering $4 million which is up from his current 1.2 million. ABC already lost Sam, I really hope they're not going to risk losing Josh. This is the best team that GMA has had in years and without Josh the future of the show beyond George and Robin looks a little murky. He is next in line for the main anchor position I assume? Not to mention the fact that I really don't see where Josh could end up that would be willing to give him $8 million for anything less than an anchoring position and being that there are no anchoring positions open at NBC where could he go? Lara is said to be close to inking her new deal as well. Hopefully these reports are false and Josh will be around for a long time.
  8. I'm not the only one who notices the awkwardness between Kathy and Cheryl at times? I'm sure that they get along just fine but sometimes on air their interactions with each other come off as cold.
  9. Agreed. I don't think it's healthy for any one person to stay in the same spot on TV for nearly 20 years. Matt and Al need to say bye bye.
  10. The maternity leave will be no where near as long as Robin's medical leave. Therefore there's really no need to bring anyone from outside the show to fill in when there's Natalie and Tamron and maybe occasionally Hoda and also the show has no momentum that would necessitate big names filling in.
  11. Another one of your copycat claims? Savannah's dress reminds me of a dress that Robin has worn before. And the guys height reminds me of George's height. And the windows remind me of a department store. After doing some checking on Newscaststudio, Friday was not the first time GMA used this set up. The first record of it was sometime last summer.
  12. Liked the way the used the set's monitors to open Friday's show with the news of the missing Malaysian flight.
  13. It can be kind of distracting when it's not in use, just in the background of shots during an interview. However the overall concept especially the Social Slot machine are really incredible for the show!
  14. They had chef Bobby Flay on the program this morning and the cooking segment was done from the kitchen set. Which was hidden behind those retractable monitors before the segment. The "Social Square" also appears to have a glass sliding door or window of some sort from the picture, I think it should be closed during segments where it's visible but not being used for that particular segment.
  15. Is today Liz Cho's first day back from a small vacation?
  16. Speaking of those two, I just stumbled upon this listing through eBay and couldn't resist adding this to my GMA merchandise collection. Just got to find a 27x40 frame for it. Yes yes I know I'm a little lame lol
  17. Yeah really. All television programs take elements from one another and try to incorporate them into their broadcast which has happened since television began. I love this idea and to me it's add a fresh feel to the entire show.
  18. TODAY was most certainly the first morning broadcast, but their current mix of news/lifestyle/entertainment is a copy of ABC. Which show was first to have a cooking segment or in studio fashion show? As well as incorporating a couch and coffee table in their program? And to be honest about the attached social media room, CBS would be the first of the big three to launch this. Their green room has photo booths and for guest to take photos and chit chat.
  19. Social media editor Andrew Springer is claiming now that this had been in the works far before Today debuted their new spot. Guessing that whole issue of space came into play for the decision as he says the show contemplated setting up outside or upstairs.
  20. One other thing about the new space I like that it combines elements of CBS This Morning and that NBC show, by combining social media and a place for guest to hang out before hitting the set. The space also fits the look and feel of Times Square. This instantly makes the show feel a bit fresher!
  21. No doubt it's a copy of Today but the show has had plans on expanding the fan experience when visiting the studios for a long time but are severely limited by space. I do want to mention that I am growing really tired of Nancy Grace's segment with Dan Abrams. What spurs the decision to have her on some days and then not others? It was interesting when they introduced the segment 3 years ago but now it's just old, stale and lazy.
  22. Ryan Smith making his GMA anchoring debut reading the news for Josh who is in for George.
  23. Was not expecting this! Good job GMA! http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/on-day-2-of-sochi-olympics-gma-beats-today_b213365
  24. Liz Cho said on her twitter that the video wall malfunctioned 5 minutes till air time so they used plan B which apparently was the blue curtain until the wall came back up.
  25. I didn't think I could like any Today Show duo more than Katie and Matt, but Meredith is just that good. They get along so well and it's enjoyable to watch them together. Yet I still can't stomach watching Lauer.
