In addition to the 4 p.m. newscast, WPIX is starting a weekly football themed show called "NY Blitz," which is scheduled to start this Sunday. I agree with @NYNewsCoverage with regards to who should anchor the new newscast. Shirley and Kala are great anchors, and Craig has been filling in for Kori. The idea of Tamsen and Kori doing 4, 5, 6, and 10 is overkill.

Well, that was fast! I was rooting for Rich Graziano to turn Channel 11 around. As for Greg Easterly, I hope he gets the PIX job full time, as I strongly believe that the next GM should come from WGN or KTLA.

Well, Jim Watkins left WTNH here in Connecticut this past summer, but I seriously doubt that he would return to WPIX for anything less than primary anchor.

I agree with what you have said, but I don't see WPIX joining the 11 p.m. news race. If anything, there may be plans to finally launch the midday and weekend morning newscasts, provided that Tribune really invests in Channel 11.

I hope that Channel 11 intends to eventually give Kaity and Brenda the whole hour at 6 p.m., because they are deserving of more than 30 minutes. And Tamsen and John anchoring three newscasts makes no sense to me.

I saw the clip on Kimmel last night. I personally don't see the "allure" of Dari Alexander...She is not very attractive, and she doesn't seem like the brightest bulb in the pack. What happened in the clip may be proof of the latter. Clearly someone screwed up by allowing Dari to do sports, but if Russ Salzberg was unavailable that evening, why did they not bring in Ryan Asselta or Duke Castiglione to cover for him? Do the people at FOX 5 even THINK anymore? (Obviously not; see the Dave Price thread.) Yes, it's another (well-deserved) stain on FOX. Who knows, maybe FOX Television Stations will see the light and show Lew Leone and Dianne Doctor the door!
