  1. Yes, and other cities that had that nickname as well, such as Buffalo, Bangor, Springfield, Manchester (New Hampshire) and others.
  2. Both packages are based on the same folk song "This is My City, Chicago's My Town" which gave rise to the 1975 theme by Dick Marx, and other news packages by different composers, especially Frank Gari and Stephen Arnold. "Enforcer" debuted in 1994 on WBBM-TV, "CBS Local" debuted in 2013 on Nexstar-owned CBS affiliate KGPE in Fresno.
  3. Or Jeffrey Toobin. I'm surprised he's still there after that horrible display of what he did.
  4. Is Red River Broadcasting the same company that formerly owned NBC affiliate KDLT in Sioux Falls (currently owned by Gray)?
  5. Is the Sinclair Ransomware attack also affecting the Bally Sports Regional Nets, including Bally Sports Detroit?
  6. Curious question, can the FCC actually force a television station (like WWOR) to air locally-produced programming that is detrimental to their community of license?
  7. When you have CBS claiming to be "America's Most Watched Network" for more than a decade (mostly due its primetime programs, live sports telecasts such as the NFL, NCAA and others, along with Sunday Morning and 60 Minutes, which still remains the highest rated shows on those time slots) its morning and evening newscasts has still not have dug out of its big "third place hole" despite plenty of changes over the years.
  8. Nah, the CBS Eyemark is here to stay, although they should've adjust the size of the logo slightly.
  9. Looks like Atlanta will soon have 2 flagship stations (WSB/Cox and WGCL/Gray). Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Standard General a hedge fund, too?
  10. So much for the "Facts, not Opinions" slogan we were once promised...
  11. Rush has forever paved the way for many of the conservative firebrands to follow such as Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Hugh Hewitt, Dennis Prager and others. People may like him, people won't. But you got to credit, he has injected new life into AM talk radio and he'll shall be missed by those who knew him best. May the "Golden Microphone" continue to live on in heaven. Godspeed.
  12. Here's hoping the next hires for the CBS Television Stations unit would be more respectful to any journalist, man or woman, regardless of market.
  13. Jeff Zucker will go down in infamy as one of the ultimate worst programming executives in history (broadcast or cable).
  14. That would be Galano Grotesque
  15. When was the last time a Monday Night game has aired other than ABC (1970-2005) or ESPN (2006-present)?
  16. This could be very bad news for every TV and radio station across America....
  17. Watching this new newscast right now and I really like the presentation in terms of how the stories is being covered. It's like the KCAL format meets the Windy City. NewsNation may not get the highest ratings in its first day or the first week for that matter, but it takes time to carve out its own niche of viewers who want real, honest, and straight news with no bias or opinion. I wish NewsNation the best of luck.
  18. Dick Goddard, The Dean of Weather Forecasting, is now at peace, Godspeed.
  19. Those questions are more likely to be answered given this whole nature of this deal by Gray...
  20. One of the great mavericks of local TV, he will be truly missed by those not only in Boston and Miami, but also the television industry as well.
  21. This is one of those rare and unusual moments no viewer should ever experience watching local TV news....
  22. I know I'm gonna get some flack for this statement, but, maybe ReelWorld should do news/talk jingles more often....
  23. Especially including WWOR which shut down its news department in 2013...and merged its operations with sister station WNYW in 2019 after the FCC's Main Studio Rule was repealed. At least the Garden State still has News 12 New Jersey....
  24. I swear this has got to be an early-April Fool's joke....
