If I had to guess, Jessie Waters gets the 8pm and Harris Faulkner takes over 7pm. Also possible that Ingraham moves to 8pm. I don't see them rocking the boat too much on this.

Laura Coates’ Sirius XM show recently switched from 3-6pm ET to 7-9am ET. I think this might be a factor into why we haven’t seen Laura on air as much. 7-9am and 11pm-midnight would be a very long day,
Makes sense. I have a feeling she was told by CNN that she was not the long term answer in primetime, which I would agree with. She will be much better utilized as an analyst on News Central programming moving forward, if that indeed is the plan.

interesting concept. The stand-ups, floor-to-ceiling graphics, and camera pans from one part of the studio to another reminded me of CNN’s election night coverage, which is probably not an accident. Creates a more active and fast-paced feeling.
As others have said, no graphics overhaul yet. Lower thirds and bug are all the same. Some elements drawing from the new logo did appear sporadically.
Some of the standing felt excessive, though. I almost felt bad for the anchors. I only watched the first 10 minutes but I didn’t see anyone sit down once. Even the panel discussion I saw involved everyone standing and chatting around a table. It was almost distracting. I suspect they will recalibrate some of this over time.
I’m glad you said *almost* feel bad for the anchors. Doctors, teachers, etc. stand for 8-12 hours a day and don’t get paid millions of dollars to do so.

Longtime News 12 LI anchor/reporter Danielle Campbell is out at the station effective Friday of this week. Notably, she was part of the 2018 age discrimination lawsuit against Altice, who tried to layoff Campbell at the time.
-
T.J. Holmes is in trouble, if this NY post story is any indication. There is no way that ABC allows this spectacle to go on much longer. Clips from every show this week have been reposted and every interaction is being over analyzed.

Courtney is now a freelancer for the station. Seems like they will continue to use her heavily, at least for the near term.

Teresa has earned it but she has been passed over several times for less significant jobs.
I know she's only been there a few months, but I would move Tashanea Whitlow to anchor evenings. She has been very strong so far. Steve is still a weak link in the evenings and is better suited for mornings in my opinion, but I doubt he will be gone anytime soon.

I assume you’re referring to Elizabeth Hashagen?
Whoops, yes. Important detail!

Longtime News 12 Long Island morning anchor Elizabeth Hashagen is leaving the morning show to focus solely on News 12’s “The New Normal” show which airs live at 9am and repeats at 4:30pm. The show airs on all N12 networks.

Ryan Kristafer is being groomed for something.

News 12 Westchester is building a new set in Yonkers as well. I guess they’ll report from there instead of the newsroom until they go back to 2 anchors on a set... isn’t the Long Island newsroom/studios supposed to be relocating this year?
They are supposed to be relocating to brand new studios in Bethpage by the end of this year. Not sure how covid has impacted that timeline.

Pretty damning (and accurate) indictment from Diana on how NYC is these days. Good on her for speaking out and hoping for all the best in regards to her health.- 3

News 12 LI evening anchor Stone Grissom is leaving the station, effective today.
Hopefully this is his choice and not another cost-cutting move by Altice. Stone was a fantastic anchor and really steadied the nightly newscasts on N12. Best of luck to him.

Craig said today (on Instagram) that he will be reporting, not anchoring.
Reading between the lines on social media, it looks as if Kala is leaving PIX. Just speculation at this point.

Didn’t see this posted anywhere here yet:
Definitely the most logical choice. She is fantastic in the field, one of the top AM reporters in the market. I think it’s a great choice, but it also speaks to the lack of a bench News 12 LI has within its anchor ranks. There was no one internally who is well known to LI viewers that they could have plucked and put in that seat, short of sliding over Elisa from traffic and features.
The amount of talent that they have had walk out the door in the recent past is stunning. Drew Scott, Lea Tyrell, Colleen McVey, Bill Korbel and now Carol Silva. Bill and Carol’s retirements seem genuine, the others not so much (as we know from the lawsuit.)
-
Ben Aaron is a fantastic pickup for them. He’s hysterical, creates great content for TV and social media. One of the smarter pickups they have made. I’m also glad to see Marysol back again!

Michelle always belonged on weekday mornings. Only reason she didn’t get it when Lori left was because of the previous unethical ND who also didn’t promote white talent. I see Shirleen as much more of a nightside anchor.

Samantha Augeri is leaving FOX5 and returning to News12 Long Island. Her last day is Saturday.. wonder if someone is leaving or what changes they’re making?
Curious as well. Hard to think that either Bill or Rich is leaving.

I really hope they aren’t planning on making Good Day Wake Up a single anchor show.. all of last week they only had Kerry Drew or Ragen Medgie on (solo) and today it was Kerry again alone.
I would doubt it. I think they are probably going solo because it’s summer, people are on vacation and they are short staffed. They definitely weren’t expecting two anchor vacancies let alone on the same show.

Very surprised to see Suki leave. I feel that her and Jenn really developed that show more than it has in years.
She had developed a reputation for being difficult to work with, however I think her two years at Fox 5 have helped rehabilitate her image. She may have wanted yesterday to be her last day instead of today so as not to overshadow Jenn’s longer planned departure.
-
Not surprising considering Altice’s major goal is likely to combine all the regions into one News12 network that serves all of the tri-state.
-
She pulled off a rare feat in NY television: never got on the bad side of Suki.
