  1. There was no announcer on the Live at Five, 6pm, and weekend shows too. That lasted about a month before Fred Facey took over. I think Pardo took over only Live at Five a few months later.
  2. IMHO, the 11 pm news broadcast may have been from the third week of N4NY's debut. I possess a few WNBC reports dated 09/14, 09/15, and 09/16/1980 regarding the protests against the closure of Sydenham Hospital. I have attached a screenshot from the weekend broadcast dated 09/14/1980, which shows the temporary 4. Additionally, the temporary 4 lasted for just one month.
  3. From what I gather, probably not this year. The WNJU set is already built, along with a new control room. I heard the plan was for WNBC to inaugurate their set first and WNJU later.
  4. Before @nynewsguyposts it. The new set will debut tomorrow at 11am.
  5. I used to work there for many years. Not anymore. The downstairs control room came later after the ABC News Now launch in 2004. Before that, it was a conference room where the execs and producers had their 9 am meeting. It was called the "Crazy Eddie room." And yes, there were monitors in the room too.
  6. Try WPVI in Philly. They had it first before the others.
  7. Since I haven't work at ABC in almost two years, I do know how WABC operates..... Just be patient, it's coming.......
