KTUL will finally get some competition at 4pm. According to a new station promo, on August 5th, KOTV will launch a new 4pm newscast. The move pushes Dr. Phil back to his original 3pm timeslot, replacing the ending Millionaire.

KTUL veteran Charles Ely is retiring tonight after 46 years in television, over a quarter-century of that time at channel 8 (starting in Columbus at WBNS, then in Atlanta, and later Dallas at KXAS)

KTUL meteorologist Clint Boone has jumped ship to KJRH, joining former colleague Mike Collier.

KOTV morning anchor Rich Lenz (previously a sports anchor at sister station KWTV and WDSU in New Orleans) announced on Facebook today that he is leaving the station on Friday after 11 years to start a marketing company.

KJRH has made some changes to its' daytime schedule. The station's midday newscast has moved from 11am to noon, joining KOTV and KOKI at that timeslot. 'Days of Our Lives' has moved from noon to 1pm, replacing the 4th hour of 'Today', which has taken over the 11am slot.

And KFAQ simulcasts KJRH's morning show.

Not sure. The promos starred airing today and Titan hasn't been updated.

KJRH will be getting competition at 11am. KTUL will be launching a midday newscast at 11am starting Monday, replacing Rachael Ray. This means all 4 Tulsa news stations will have midday shows, with KOTV and KOKI competing at noon.

Pretty surprising news about Scott, though Craig Day is a good choice, he and Terry Hood already anchor the 9pm news together. He says he's staying in town, which makes me wonder if he'll call it a career or pop up at Cox, Scripps or Sinclair.

KTUL announced on their 4pm that Chief meteorologist Mike Collier has resigned after over 16 years with Channel 8. BTW, this leaves KTUL with 3 meteorologists, which is actually the lowest in the market, market leader KOTV has 6, KJRH and KOKI have 5. Also, KOTV reporter Tony Russell has recently joined KJRH.

Longtime KOTV meteorologist Dick Faurot is retiring this summer after four decades on television, 24 years at channel 6, and 18 years previously in Lafayette, LA. Lacey Swope from OKC sister station KWTV will take over.
