  1. I’m not so sure about why they needed to change the logo. It makes me wonder why no good could come out of just leaving the logo alone.
  2. She announced this on the 36th anniversary of when she joined News Channel 5: https://www.wptv.com/about-us/kelley-dunn-announces-retirement-after-36-years-at-wptv?_amp=true
  3. Speaking Of WPBF, is it me, or does WPBF really Hate abc? I ask because they've been pre-empting primetime shows a lot, especially this past summer, and fall of 2020. I wonder if there is anything about abc that is getting under the skin of WPBF.
  4. Kinda curious to know if the trouble involving Ellen herself is why her show moved to mornings. Also, I Still can’t stand the narrator since the 2020-21 season of hot bench, Christopher Thomas. I miss Rino Romano.
  5. I'm sorry, but I do Not like the new logo. It is atrocious. I agree with iron lion, the previous logo was Way better. This ewww logo is a step backwards, IMO.
  6. In fact, five other ABC O&Os have replaced Laff with thisTv. Only KTRK and KFSN still carry Laff on .3’s.
  7. Getting back to WSFL, I hope their morning news has the vibe like the Good Day format that can be found on most of the Fox O&O’s. You know I actually find it appalling that Miami has only one English language choice for local news from 7-9am, Hard News, and no other alternative. Apparently, to me, WBFS and pre-Scripps WSFL were not willing to compete and provide an English language lighter option. If WBFS were to have one, of course it would be from WFOR. I mean, imagine living in Miami, raising children waiting to go to school, and it was around 7:30am. You want to watch local news in English. Unfortunately, you’re stuck with the compelling newscast that is Today in Florida on WSVN. This is why I’m hopeful that WSFL in ‘21 will provide audiences with a lighter alternative from 7-10am, along with the 4-7am portion, of course.
  8. Well, here you go: https://variety.com/2020/tv/news/the-view-sara-haines-host-1234735203/
  9. Reminds me of what Rhode Island's WJAR used in the mid-1980's.
  10. Thank goodness I don’t live in the Triad. How dare WFMY move Ellen to mornings. I hope it returns to afternoons soon. I wish they’d considered moving it to WXII if WFMY didn’t want it in the afternoons. Not to be heartless, but this is the holiday season, and unless Ellen was losing in the afternoons in Greensboro, or she opened her mouth to something, that is horrible.
  11. One would have to wonder what kind of ratings Ellen has been getting in Greensboro, NC. I’d have to assume they’re not good enough with this kind of downgrade.
  12. I sincerely Doubt Sunbeam will sell their stations after Ansin. I’m sure that the estate will own them. Sunbeam Will Live On.
  13. I’ve never been to the Hampton Roads, but I remember reading two years ago about Crystal Harper and her battle with cancer. I must say how proud I am of her for surviving, and her departure is sad because I feel she really captured the hearts of the Hampton Roads. Good Luck with her future endeavors.
  14. I’ve been reading on ABC’s Facebook page that a lot of people want The Chew back. I’m not sure why.
  15. I think this was exclusively for ABC affiliates at the time, go to 2:23 in the following video and see a number of ABC stations that used it:
  16. How many CBS affiliates, that weren’t KCBS or WBZ were tempted to air this: https://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/bears-fan-quiz/2859839
  17. Well, based on its success, it looks like the days of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! on Local 10 appear to be numbered, as it wouldn’t surprise me if they were to introduce news at 7 and 7:30 on that station. If both shows Do have to move, I sure hope that they end up on a station Other than WSVN. I’m a big fan of both shows.
  18. Any word on when WPRI/WNAC will get these graphics?
  19. WPBF is, I believe a Rare example of a station to Not have a newscast on a sister station, nor subchannel. EstrellaTV is on 25.2 and the Justice Network on 25.3, but I don’t think either subchannel Has a newscast in English or Spanish, so I say there’s always room for expansion.
  20. Poor Alex Trebek. Are Jeopardy’ ratings in Houston Really that bad? Ever since 2008, KHOU and now KTRK seem to have been alienating J! fans alike. In 2008, when the Doctors premiered, J! got bumped to 11:45pm, then after Oprah ended her talk show, KHOU moved it to 4:30pm until 2015 when it introduced a newscast at that time, and that in turn moved J! to KTRK at 3pm, But now it is downgraded yet again to 1pm. Does Houston Really Hate Jeopardy!
  21. IMO, this would be really sad if Scripps gets sold completely. I only wish most stations would take some hints from WPTV because it seems to me like the Gold standard for Scripps.
  22. Sorry for being the ultimate party pooper, but am I the only person who liked the USA Today-esque style better than what’s here?
  23. I want Ellen back on WPTV. I’m so unhappy with it on WPBF.
  24. Some very sad news out of my native Boston: http://www.wcvb.com/article/jack-hynes-channel-5-dean-of-boston-tv-news-dies-at-88/17805935
  25. I doubt that would include WPTV because after all, they’ve been #1 forever. As for some of the rest, if God forbid They end up on the block, I can easily see Raycom show interest. Just Don’t mention the conglomerate that I’d like to remain nameless.
