  1. Despite not making any significant accomplishments during his tenure, I would give kudos to Kiernan for being on this long.

Would Janet Hundley make an appereance at CBS 2 as the new chief or would they promote the Assistant News Director? Or poach from WGN?

  2. I really don’t like Savannah and believe she’s one of the weakest personalities to grace the show since Jim Hartz. She just doesn’t do a damn thing for me.

Megan would be an awesome addition to the program so I agree with what you’ve said. Her and Brian could be magical.

Also to the above poster, Today has built their most successful years off of making their anchors the stars of the show. I don’t really expect them to move away from that winning formula.

She may not do a damn thing for you, but the Savannah/Hoda duo is winning in the ratings. And that's all NBC cares about.

  3. I hope this doesn’t come off as harsh but once she filed the complaint, she knew her days were numbered. She’ll eventually land on her feet one day.

Absolutely she will. But Corporate ain't a saint either. If upper management decided not to answer her questions of who would be her supervisor, it was a big signal that Camevil would continue to be her boss. That is, unless she is fired during vacation or ousted in a reshuffle.

  4. I have to agree about Sherwood, and he be on twitter wishing all the on-air talent happy birthdays at the ABC O/O, so he's very much involved at the house of mouse.

Let's wait and see if he will continue wishing happy birthdays and cleaning the WABC house.

Here's somewhat of an update. I think it's really sad to be completely honest. It's horrible to have to go to work and have everyone be miserable because of the top. Hoping that this just gets cleared up and no one else has to suffer. Like I said if the top isn't taken down there are ones who will leave. Those behind the scenes who aren't making much could probably jump ship to pretty much anywhere. If they wanted too both Bill Evans and Diana Williams could walk away pretty. I mention them because they are the next ones likely to leave within 5-10 years anyway. Bill Evans is in his late 50s now and has kids almost through college (I think) and is newly remarried. Diana is probably weighing her options with all that's happened in her personal life recently. We just wait and watch now I guess.

I was about to post that. It is unfortunate that the WABC staffers are confirming that working under Camille is like working in hell. Retaliation, bullying and abuse? That's really messed up. I think this is a breaking point for WABC and we will see if Sherwood does something.

  6. Even if more talent leaves WABC — they won’t suffer. In the last 14 years, they’ve had three different 11pm coanchors, two different 6pm coanchors, 2 different 5pm coanchors, 3 different noon teams and 4 different morning teams. On top of that, a good number of long time reporters left while new, younger ones have joined the team and the weekend teams change every few years. They’ll survive a few more changes. That said, I do hope some behind the scenes changes occur as things don’t seem as great as they usually are at WABC.

That's the thing. 14 years ago we didn't have the social media platforms that we have now, the importance of public's perception and the tide is turning regarding sexual harassment accusations. If Laura's complaint gets picked up by the Daily News or any other newspaper, it will definitely force the hand of Rebecca Campbell to do something about Dave Davis and Camille Edwards. The viewers perception of having a pervert as General Manager and a racist News Director will make that happen. That or advertisers pulling ad dollars from ABC 7.

  7. Agreed if Edwards and Davis aren't gone I garuntee we see big name talent flee in 2018.

To where though? I highly doubt WNBC, WCBS would break up their anchor/reporter ranks to bring in any cast from WABC. Maybe WNYW or *WPIX* would try to court them but I doubt they will take the paycut to go to those stations. The only two ways I see it is: they will remain at WABC, but there would be a purge in the management suits or suck it up and remain at WABC.

  8. I'm old enough to remember when JetBlue a/k/a PropBlue switched from black and white to color...

Just wait until we start redoing the A320 interiors to the A321 standards starting in September.

Sorry for deviating the topic lol

  9. I think you're right. I watched her a few times and she improved a lot over the years. I blame WNBC more than her for why she hasn't worked out. She basically was hired to be Sue 2.0. Sibila is great but its not like she is so much better than Shiba. But I'm sure Shiba is going to be fine wherever she goes. I think Kerry Barrett is going to take Shiba's place when/if she does leave.

I wasn't thrilled when Shiba succeeded Sue at WNBC. However, she indeed has gotten better and damn to say this, but I like the chemistry she has with Rob. It's natural. Just as she seemed comfortable with Tom Llamas. I echo the sentiments that Shiba was set up for failure by WNBC.

Drill this through your skull. As my boss, Dave Barger said: "What got us here, won't get us there". Same thing with ABC 7. What brought them to 1st place, not necessarily was going to keep them in the top stop for more years. And no, don't mention 6ABC, they are a power on their own. BUT, they do keep updating as necessary to keep relevant to this time.

Wait, what? Psycho-what? Are you saying that I need a psychiatrist/psychologist of something? I don't think I need any of that.

Even though new folks went in and got rid of an iconic theme tune and went with the New Generation route, the previous management rejected, and I'm saddened and pissed about it, and I even said, I still watch the station, it doesn't mean I'm going to completely lose my mind. I keep on mentioning Philly. What would've happen if PVI did it again, I wouldn't be the only one that would feel the same way. To me, the sentiment is massive.

Yes, you DO need pyschotherapy. It was a music change. Get over it. The new cuts sound good and get the job done of saying "This is Eyewitness News". Calling Idler "dumbo", "bastard" and Miles his "sidekick" is very sad. It's not like Idler went to your house and peed on your cornflakes. Embrace change and go with it. If they revert back to Stimulus, fine. If not, fine too.
