  1. In regard to Jeff not being given enough time to prove himself, he had 18 months and the ratings consistently went down during his tenure. Do we really think that would change? I think Norah O'Donnell should have gotten the job when they axed Scott Pelley. She is the perfect choice. Her recent interview with the CEO of Boeing was amazing. She asks hard hitting questions and doesn't allow the standard "talking points." As for CTM, I just dont think Tony and Anthony are going to move the needle. They are both great journalists but I'm sorry Anthony is boring and Tony is too young for the typical CBS audience. CBS needs a marquee name to shake things up. They should have gone after Ann Curry and Anderson Cooper.
  2. There is no way Dylan will sustain working 7 days a week long term. Same goes for Sheinelle working 6 days. They'll have to have a day off during the week on a permanent basis (as Chuck Todd does) or dump their weekend duties all together & stick with the third hour during the week. They can easilly get somone from The Weather Channel to take Dylan's spot and someone from MSNBC to cover Sheinelle on Saturdays.
  3. Wasn't WNYW supposed to be getting a new noon newscast this fall as part of the news expansion at Fox Television stations?
  4. Craig is a natural. He's smart, he's a great interviewer, and can easily transition from serious news to lighter fare. He'll be a great addition to the weekday team. Way better then useless Michael Strahan on GMA.
  5. Anyone else notice Craig Melvin is in the Today cast photo on Twitter? Just sayin...
  6. Tamron Hall had the same clause in her last NBC contract. That's how she became co-host of the 9:00 hour. When they hired Megyn Kelly, word is she was offered the 3rd co-anchor slot as a consolation prize, but she opted to leave and it was given to Hoda. Dylan probably had it in her contract that she get top billing with the other anchors.
  7. Turns out Lisa Rayam is leaving on her own terms. Rodney Ho has been off with his stories lately. http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/lisa-rayam-says-shes-leaving-waga-sad-about-earlier-reports/169737
  8. Anyone have info on why they don't do the news w/Natalie in the 7:00 half hour anymore? It's stupid that she even sits at the desk in the first hour because she doesn't do anything! Seems like NBC is trying to put Matt & Savannah front and center for all of the first half hour. They've even started doing a lot of interviews together.
  9. I've noticed as well that Today hasn't been doing the news in the first half hour. This morning you only saw Matt and Savannah for the first half hour. They introduced all of the stories and read the headlines. Is this a sign of things to come?
  10. looks like more then just the floor! I'm excited. Hope they dont make it look worse!
  11. I saw this too, and got very excited. I hope they are doing something about the background behind the couch area. I'd also love to see a skyline backdrop for behind the main anchor desk that can rise and fall, like they used to have before the 2006 update. Take things back to the 1985-1990 set that had a background of midtown Manhattan. Also replace the part of the set in the corner just behind the demo area that Al Roker himself has described as a scene from Sesame Street!
  12. As of the week of June 8th, CBS This Morning has narrowed the gap between them and Today to 976,000 total viewers! http://www.adweek.com/tvnewser/morning-show-ratings-week-of-june-8/265264
  13. Also, if they are going to have both anchors appear at the end, they should have them go back and forth and both introduce a story. Matt looks silly standing their when he didn't read anything. Or have one person do the entire open and have one stand their. It just looks unorganized
  14. Love the open but they definitely need to up date the graphics to match. Something silver and orange just like the headline bed in the open.
  15. Do we really needs 9 main hosts on one show, even if it is 4 hours long? Too many people is the problem. Tamron was fine at MSNBC and filling in when needed (like when Carson is never their due to The Voice). I cant believe NBC likes her that much that they gave into her contract demands for a spot in the 9am hour. Natalie is just plain boring. I don't think anyone would mind seeing her go. Matt has now been co-anchor for 18 years & with the show for 21. He's now officially the longest serving morning show co-anchor in history. A good record indeed, but now past time to pass the baton. Something has got to give. They need more vibrant personalities to right the ship. Hoda & Josh would be a good pairing. NBC should test them out sometime to see how it goes.
