The St. Louis Business Journal is reporting that Gray has purchased an office building in the suburbs at 77 Progress Parkway, previously the office for a company called Biomedical Systems. They expect to be moved in by late summer or fall 2023.
The brochure for the property can be found here.
That looks like a perfect spot for a television station.

WVUE evening anchor Kim Holden announced her retirement during the 5 pm newscast today. She started at the station in 1988 as an intern, then worked her way up to the evening anchor desk, where she has been for the past 12 years. Her retirement is effective in a couple of weeks. I believe Angela Hill has been an anchor in New Orleans longer than she has.
*Man, I'm getting old. The New Orleans market is losing another giant in local TV news*

WXII Hello Peidmont promos, 1980
Nice graphic at the end with the tractor, tobacco growing and the spinning textile wheel. If that doesn't scream "Piedmont", I don't know what does.

Hi there. Sorry it's been awhile. Here's a couple of news clips.
Anyone know the name of the theme on the "25 Alive Morning Edition" segments?

WVUE morning meteorologist Shelby Latino announced on air this morning that she is stepping away temporarily to focus on raising her family. She had triplets not long before Hurricane Ida struck the area. If I heard her correctly, she said she will come in from time to time to do freelance work.

Channel 2’s Jovita Moore passes away after battle with brain cancer
A big loss for Metro Atlanta. Jovita took the torch from the legendary Monica Pearson and carried it well. I am a saddened at her passing, yet she is in a better place. My condolences to her family and the Channel 2 family.
SN: Justin Farmer was a trooper in announcing her death. You could tell at times it was getting to him.

In this video, we have then-WBRZ General Manager John Spain explain why his news crew aired a story the way they did on a man who gunned down Jeff Doucet, who kidnapped Jody Plauche, at Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport in 1984...the murder was caught on the station's camera and anchor Ed Buggs (RIP) was the reporter. The murder led the 10 pm newscast, which starts at 3:50. The man arrested was later identified as Jody's father, Gary Plauche.
It does beg the question: how would THIS be covered today? A good video on ethics in journalism...for 1984.

I'm not gonna lie, this one hurts...and those living in the Baton Rouge market or has worked in the market would say the same thing. I watched her in the late 80s and the 90s with George Sells while I was in junior high and high school. She was awesome at her job and an even better person off the set. My condolences to her family and the Channel 9 family.

Here's the open from the first episode of "informed Sources" in 1984 on WYES, in which anchors and reporters from various media in New Orleans discuss issues affecting the area. Marcia Kavanaugh Radlauer is still at WYES. You can rewind to the very beginning to see the current open., in which the theme has not changed one bit. The show still airs weekly on WYES.
