  1. To quote Comic Book Guy from The Simpsons: "Worst idea ever." That's why I either watch FOX Weather or AccuWeather.
  2. Actually, WJZ does have a news helicopter. They were the first one in Baltimore to have one in the late 90s. WJZ-CBS Baltimore receives new R66 Newscopter - AviTrader Aviation News
  3. http://www.broadcastdesign.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/05_WJZ13-Studio-4.jpg Here is the WJZ Cube from 2018.
  4. I believe only WJZ uses a live shot of the Inner Harbor for their 7-day which is considerably better than the plain white background.
  5. They are now using the new 7-day. Go to 2:57
  6. I have been watching since the beginning in January and I have been very impressed. Despite a few errors here and there. I hope viewers in Detroit are starting to take notice.
  7. At least they keep the tradition of a "Jim" at 6 and 11 p.m.
  8. Reminds me a bit of the upgrade made to KNTV last year.
  9. Anything to get more eyeballs on them.
  10. I have been watching since their launch and I am impressed. At times, it almost feels like they have been doing this for awhile even though they just started. Possibly thanks to rehearsals.
  11. I saw they want to get the full news schedule in place by March.
  12. I guess so since they have introduced a new anchor filling in for Jeff tonight, Kris Laudien from KARE-TV in Minneapolis, MN.
  13. After watching the newscasts, I feel Amyre and Jeff are a much better anchor team.
  14. He is probably coming to NBC 4 as they are still looking for a weekend am meteorologist since Lauryn Ricketts left last year.
  15. While you may say the CBS2 in the box branding looks awful, that's the way it will eventually be for the remaining O&Os. To me it looks good on KCAL and KPIX.
  16. The set is reminds me of what WREG had with their newsplex set before getting their new one.
  17. Look, it's just the first day. Not everything goes as planned. Yes, it will take some take some getting used to but after awhile things will settle. No matter how many times you rehearse, there will always be hiccups. 1) KCAL is still the same without the "9" and is getting a lot more attention as the main brand. 2) CBS 2 is now CBS Los Angeles. 3) CBS News Los Angeles is their streaming service.
  18. Pat Collins is one of the best. He will truly be missed but at least he can finally relax.
  19. Yes. WFXT and WHBQ were the stations who commissioned this package.
  20. For a time, WUSA-TV used the First Alert Weather brand when they launched their USA Today graphics in 2013.
  21. The open reminds me of the same one used on wccb in Charlotte. at :22 seconds.
  22. The logo looks similar to the one that CBS 12 (WPEC) has. They just expanded the "2"
  23. I knew this was coming, but in Mark's case an explanation needed to be made and I'm proud for what he did. Lynette should have had the chance to say goodbye after 24 years at one station.
