  1. Harry has always been my favorite morning anchor, especially when paired with Paula Zahn on CBS. A total class act, and I always hoped when CBS fumbled and NBC picked him up that he would take over Today, especially after the whole Matt Lauer scandal. Either way, a great career indeed. Happy retirement, Harry—you’ll be missed but job well-done!
  2. The more I think about Dana getting demoted, the more it annoys me. I get if there are budget cuts to make, but to make her a fill-in anchor is such a classless move when she’s nearing the end of her career. If you want her off evenings, fine. However, why not just make her the official noon anchor at this point instead of having it rotate between Chris and Mary. Give that newscast some stability, similar to how ABC 7 has Sandra Bookman on at noon. Lighten their workload, give Dana her own newscast, and then if she has to fill in for the evening newscast it doesn’t appear as insulting, because we know she’s already there in the studio for the noon newscast. Just a thought. Or, they could also have her and Cindy do 9am and Noon so there could be some conversation, similar to how ABC 7 does their 10am show. Dana, Cindy, and John is a great pairing in my eyes at least. Plus it pairs up to two longest-tenured anchors, and they’re friends, so the chemistry is already there.
  3. Terrible move, yet again by CBS 2. Ugh.
  4. Andrea I always thought was great as anchor, especially with Cindy, but there’s also no diversity so maybe that has something to do with this move? I feel like this was the reason John was bumped from weekdays in favor of Elise, who I thought was great, too, but adding Tony into the mix makes sense for this reason after Elise’s passing. I don’t mind Tony but John doesn’t need a partner in the morning. It’s kinda insulting in a way. John’s day could be shortened to have it make more sense. Also, I like Chris and Mary (Chris is honestly the best male morning anchor in NYC in my opinion), but for as long as they’ve been paired together, it seems they never move the ratings needle. WCBS has a great team but nothing seems to work!
  5. I wonder if Ken Rosato’s return to tv was supposed to be for Good Day New York, since we still haven’t seen him pop up anywhere. If so, FOX 5 missed a huge marketing opportunity to have Scotto & Rosato!
  6. I think it’s been on at least a month. I saw it the one day randomly while waiting for the news at 9am to begin. Honestly, the morning crew works the worst hours. At this point they really need to be excused altogether from the news at noon because their day is too long—I mean, unless they enjoy doing it. They really could just replay the morning news instead of the 7/8am news because it’s all the same information, unless something serious breaks after the morning news is over.
  7. Oh yes, definitely, good catch! It’s so eerie, I sent a weather watchers post the morning when Dr. Frank Field turned 100, so he would get a proper shoutout for such a milestone, and Elise was on that morning and read it…and not even 4 months later she was gone, at almost half his age.
  8. This is the 4th cbs 2 either current or alumni to pass since this summer. Elise, Dr. Max Gomez, Arnold Diaz, now Pablo Guzman. What a sad year. Such a loss of great talent.
  9. I always liked when Marysol & Dan anchored the early morning news back in the day. They had good chemistry together.
  10. John deserves to be on weekdays, and it’s comforting having him back after the loss of Elise Finch. Sorry if I’m in the minority here but Raegan Medgie is one of the most annoying personalities on television. She was annoying on The Weather Channel and she was just as annoying on FOX 5. Yes, she has high energy but she’s way over the top, and for her to replace John Elliott or Craig Allen would be crazy. Craig Allen is one of the, if not best/most knowledgeable meteorologists in NYC. Only if he wants to give up that slot then sure, hire her to fill the slot to give the weekend show a shot in the arm. However, to have someone like Craig Allen on the weather team gives CBS 2 major credibility, and makes the team much stronger.
  11. That’s true. That was a missed opportunity. They should’ve had Kaity interview him, at the very least to see them together again!
  12. From Lynne White’s Instagram, former weekend anchor Felicia Taylor passed away at age 59. R.I.P.
  13. Craig Allen is returning to WCBS for weekend mornings, as per his Instagram post. That’s a great get for the channel as he’s one of the best in the business. Welcome back!
  14. I want to compliment CBS 2 on a great tribute to a great woman. They really did a classy job honoring Elise Finch with the service that went from around 10:34 until 2pm. Dave Carlin spoke, as did Maurice DuBois. They had a video of everyone’s memories of her, too. She is going to be missed dearly, but CBS 2 has been classy the entire time since announcing her passing. I’m sure there were more in the church but I spotted Dana and Dick sitting together, which was nice to see her colleagues honoring her. Rest easy, Elise. Thank you for a great 16 years at the station. You will be forever missed!
  15. I’ve been a weather watcher on CBS 2 for 9 years and she did so much for me with getting me on tv more than I should have. She was such a nice woman and I’ll never forget her. Mornings will not be the same without her presence. Such a shock—so young and had so much more to give. I’m devastated.
  16. David Bloom: One of the better weekend today hosts. Can’t believe it’s been 20 years already. He is still sorely missed for not only his anchoring skills but his reporting. Always was a friendly face in the mornings and real good guy. https://www.today.com/today/amp-video/mmvo168256069527?cid=referral_taboolafeed
  17. As per his Instagram, Chris Cimino is moving to 4p and 6p weekdays. Mr. G will remain at 5p and 10p.
  18. Maurice was anchoring Saturday night, which was rare. So maybe he needed the day off and filled in Saturday night instead. But Dana and Kristine is rare, too!
  19. I heard it was going to focus on good news with interviews, so not like a typical newscast. Cindy does seem like a perfect fit for that. I remember watching her and Morry Alter as a kid on the morning news and she has always had such a friendly delivery. I really hope they also give her noon but bring John Elliott along with her, because the two of them work well together but especially if it’s a good news type of newscast, John is good at that, too!
  20. I would think Jeff would get the promotion, should he want it to do Noon/4pm, since he’s been there a while now. I guess we’ll see what pans out.
  21. That’s a big loss. I liked when she filled in on the anchor desk, too. Best of luck to her!
  22. Thanks for the info. Way too young!
  23. I remember her on the weather channel. She must’ve been young, too. RIP
  24. I always thought she was good paired with Cindy. Anyone is good when paired with Cindy, though. I hate that John was moved to weekends but again, they work well together so I guess I can’t complain.
