  1. The circular desk is back and the "horizontal striped" desk is gone tonight. Norah also is standing at the beginning of the broadcast.
  2. Count me in the hundreds of thousands of people that have stopped tuning in. I was loyal to CBS This Morning since the 2012 relaunch, but don’t really like the new format now or the way the anchors don’t really seem to gel with each other. Liked the old desk setup and the harder news focus. Wish they would have named some bigger draws instead of Mason and Dokoupil. And I like Gayle but she is better as a supporting anchor.
  3. I really dislike the mix of typefaces they're using. Stick with one family, or at least use fonts that complement each other. They're using Avenir for the titles but Franklin Heavy for the L3's with italics and condensed and it's all over the place. Either stick with Avenir or go completely to Franklin. IMO during the intros when they use Franklin Heavy italic and it looks too much like a "fake TV show newscast" like Murphy Brown. The graphics seem to be a mishmash. They are using an angled shadow under the CBS Eye/CBS This Morning bug on the left but the rest of the L3s don't follow that angular approach. It's not a great presentation.
  4. Really dislike Brad Edwards AND Erica Sargent. I kept up with channel 2 news throughout all of the changes but this is the final straw. Bye!
  5. She didn't get fired. Ahern was poaching people from everywhere and gave her an offer she couldn't refuse. Funny that she would identify herself that way but its not all that uncommon. Antonio Mora did the same thing IN promo spots for WBBM when he was named anchor. He specifically referenced himself "from Good Morning America" which at the time I found interesting because he was joining a CBS station.
  6. The L3s look like the blue and white boxes with reversed type WBBM used when they launched their 2008 streetside studio.
  7. Ann Curry is going to be on CBS This Morning tomorrow--her first TV interview since 2015.
  8. I've always wanted to see Suzanne LeMignot as their main nightside anchor.
  9. Here's a pic of the new set from Robert Feder's blog today:
  10. Are they ever going to get a new set? Or use the one they have to its fullest potential? Ugh I stopped watching that station altogether. Can't stand Irika Sargent (and Kate Sullivan before her) and Rob Johnson and Ryan Baker get on my nerves too.
  11. I have directv and have been seeing their crawl about this issue appearing on a few different tv shows for a week or two now.
  12. Never gonna happen but maybe they'll make Zoraida sole anchor.
  13. Whatever @Feder re: the red jackets. All stations have branded jackets for their on air reporters. This is not anywhere controversial.
  14. Does any one have screen grabs from 4?
  15. Saw maybe a 5-10 second commercial that showed the WFLD logo being hoisted by a construction crane the other night. There was no voiceover or anything. Not sure if that meant anything.
  16. Agree. Looks terrible. Too bright and type is harder to read now. No reason to change from the previous version.
  17. For everyone talking about bobble head Ravi, I don't the open with Linda Yu who looks like she is talking and has Her mouth open. I think I saw it in the 4 pm open someone posted
  18. If they were fixing the news desk or getting a new one why would they have removed the logo from the back wall?
  19. PS I hate it when they don't give a longtime on air personality the ability to sign off diplomatically one last time. I can understand if they are leaving to join a rival station--think Diann Burns--I get it, but in a case like this or with Sylvia Perez, they should have given Mike Caplan the ability to say goodbye and thank you to the loyal viewers.
  20. Sad to see him get the boot after so many years. Very personable on air and I've been watching his forecasts since I was a kid. Channel 7 bosses have been making some pretty boneheaded moves lately. Hopefully will see him on another station in Chicago soon.
  21. Wish they would use the set like originally intended or just overhaul it completely and build a new one. I absolutely hate the way they only use a cramped, small corner of their expansive studio with tight camera angles. So lame that they have their guests sit on uncomfortable stools at that "news desk" during long election coverage.
  22. As someone else pointed out in Feder's comments, I wonder if Butler, Caplan, or Schwartz will bail if the deal goes through.
