KYW has the colors of Philadelphia Eagles

KDKA has the colors of the Steelers

    WBBM with the Bears colors

Looks like the CBS is having its O&Os try NFL team color schemes.

Got a feeling that KCNC will be on the list, and they'll be using Broncos-colored CBS graphics for KCNC

KPIX viewers might think it’s Breaking News since Niners are Red and Gold. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Then again KRON viewers are used to its Red and White look 😆

As much as I dislike the branding, IMO WFOR should've been called CBS South Florida/CBS News South Florida.

It’s kind of tricky with the last O&O desk design since the Channel Number is designed into the desk.

-KCBS killed off their desk for the new KCAL set

-KPIX is the only one that executed well by changing the number into call letters and the monitor on the desk says CBS News Bay Area.

-WFOR kept the number branding and even removed the wave on the desk. But to me it looks tacky to have both 4’s stamped on the desk. Not sure if they have a monitor or if it’s a duratrans.

we’ll see now the others in the group with the O&O desk will turn out (KOVR, WBBM, WCBS, & WJZ)

When I saw the morning graphics, I thought they’re still working out the kinks.

Looking at this picture, it’s still the same. When KPIX debuted the look. They sticked with the color schemes….The Breaking News is in Red as so as the CBS Los Angeles bug should be red too.

SKYCAL? You would think SkyEYE 😂

The promotion on this newscast has been confusing. Will this also air on KCBS during the morning slot as well? Meaning will this be the only newscast for both KCBS and KCAL?

It’s pretty much what KPIX does with KBCW in the mornings. They will simulcast at 6am on both channels as CBS NEWS Bay Area Morning Edition. Then KBCW will continue from 7-9am

KCBS will be the opposite. KCAL will be branded on KCBS instead.

They already have CW Bay Area, so it would only make sense (and speaking of, is the "Cable 12" appendage from the pre-UPN days really needed now? In a major tech hub where most don't have cable?).

CW Bay Area was dropped when KPIX dropped CBS 5 / CBS 5 Eyewitness News in 2013 in favor for call letters.

they are branded as KBCW and KBCW 44 cable 12. With their heavy jingle imaging “44 cable 12” promos that air throughout the day

I like it, it's plain but it's clean. Though, if you're going to brand your newscasts "CBS News Bay Area," wouldn't it be more logical to brand as "CBS Bay Area"? Just my 2 cents.

    That part!

NBC was ahead of its time look at NBC Bay Area, and NBC Connecticut. They have been doing well without the channel reference.

Boston and San Diego had a short lived branding until it decided to bring back the channel numbers.

Considering that you’ve got 10 people liking your post, and that a sizable number of people in this particular thread have offered nothing but uncritical praise for what CBS is doing, your perception is mistaken. Yes, there are people who don’t like it, and prefer stations to have individual characteristics, but that’s their prerogative. They’re allowed to have an opinion too.

As far as my personal feelings are, I really like this rebrand. The graphics are miles beyond what they replaced, and IMO, they’re the second best looking local news package out of the US that I’ve seen (the best being NBC’s). although I’m not a fan of the way they use the call letters in what is very likely a temporary branding. The call letters in a box don’t look good next to the “CBS News X” really look sloppy IMHO. I get that they’re trying to transition things over, but they’ve already been doing that for more than a year. In KPIX’s case, I don’t think the anchors/reporters even mention KPIX once. If you’re going all in on CBS News, go all in now.

They still mention “KPIX 5’s *reporters name* has the latest” the website is still referred to KPIX.com

I’ve yet to see new mic flags

  8. KPIX dropped the CBS 5 logo on the anchor desk  in their main studio in place of its call letters instead.

    It doesn’t look good 🙄

I’m surprised they didn’t go with the CBS NEWS Bay Area logo instead. The newsroom desk has the updated logo.
