This bug appeared at 5:30 for about a minute this evening, before being taken away and replaced by the normal blue one.

Pretty weird. The ugly gradient reminds me of CBSN's old "Red & Blue" look (and also 1990s web design).

KPIX had that color scheme on its Noon and 3pm newscast for a few days when it first got the graphics.

It was to my assumption that was a transition from mornings (orange) to evenings (blue)

  2. KGO was down with gremlins taking over the station all morning simulcasting KABC until 6:45 this morning.

Im suprised with an outage like that, they couldn’t even get anything running not even a newsroom cam.

Don't see this instance on local TV stations everyday, which is very rare in Los Angeles, for that matter.  Though, given it was Christmas Day yesterday, it was understandable, for sure.  I came across a weatherperson from KNSD in San Diego filling-in for Belen DeLeon while watching "Today in LA" yesterday.

My have the tables have turned. It used to be the other way around.

Good Lord, finally WABC. This is a massive step up for them but the current KGO/KABC look is better, and IMO would look better as a group package.

The lighter shade of Sky Blue KABC uses kind of didn’t age well. KGO’s was more neutral with the Royal Blue look.

music wise, I wonder if KGO will revert back to the original opening theme pre 2020 pandemic  or still stick with the “breaking news” theme which became the main theme during the pandemic.

  5. Jobina Fortson out at KGO

Huge loss to ABC7 Mornings. She decided to leave on her own terms and wants to spend time with her family and head back home to Atlanta.

The bond, the chemistry is definitely real on and off air with the KGO crew. They even called themselves “cousins.”

the last half of the 7am streaming show was dedicated to her starting at the 25:15 mark of the video

KPIX has their own custom cuts of Dimensional that I’m surprised haven’t been used by others around the group yet.

the morning music is too chirpy. Playing that track over a serious story doesn’t fit well.

they only cut that KPIX doesn’t use is the main extended theme heard throughout the station groups (especially the KCAL, KOVR, KCNC opens)

I was hoping they would’ve used that track for its new primetime newscasts but they went with the 7pm music route instead.

Totally agree. Sadly, there really aren't that many on-air talent left that even remotely have the connection/association with the KGTV of the late 80s-early 00s when they were on top of their game.

This whole celebration seems like it was done in haste and on the cheap. Let's get a couple of sound bites, some b-roll and a few cheap decorations/logos and call it a day.

So many faces have come and gone from KGTV that I remember when growing up (Listed below) that they didn’t interview and some of those videos seen in the reports were pulled from YouTube 🤣.

    Hal Clement

    Leonard Villarreal

    Steve Wolford

    Kyung Lah

    Lee Ann Kim

    Bill Gaines

    Leon Smitherman

    Fred Blankenship

    Lisa Lake

    Lauren Reynolds

Looks cool will it just be on the sub channel former KBHK/KBCW now KPIX+ or the main station too?

The VR weather set is only used on PIX+ primetime newscasts but will slowly integrate on KPIX newscasts.

didn’t realize they had a secondary studio. That studio is larger than what they currently have.

In the last hours of McKinnon ownership, KUSI put out a tribute to Mike McKinnon that would make North Korean state television blush with envy.

Now all we wait is for a new studio/set which has been in place since 1995!!!

What I find interesting is that there will be no prime time news on KSTW

KPIX was producing local news inserts for its short lived 10pm Seattle News Now. I guess it wasn’t attracting much viewership to launch a news dept.

I guess it’s back to square one producing only weather reports for Seattle with the previous CBSN block weather graphics on its website.

I love KDKA’s newscasts, but it’s time for them to change their mics.  They are still showing the old logo.  Same with KPIX.

KPIX finally updated their mic flags yesterday.
