  1. I have no knowledge of HS football in Missouri, but I’m not liking the Ravens’ chances in that one
  2. Probably the most important news - according to the FAQ, this isn't going anywhere.
  3. There’s a non-zero chance that people will decide whether or not to watch this - outside of some members on this board - due to the bug or whether it’s formatted as “News Nation” or “NewsNation” This is where NewsNation will live or die, and that’s by distribution rights with live streaming platforms. Right now AT&T TV Now is the only one that carries WGNA, but I think part of the reason why it’s not come to retrans agreements with YTTV, Sling, Hulu, FuboTV, etc. is that there’s not really anything on there that is truly worth watching. In The Heat of the Night reruns are
  4. Wow. I enjoyed watching Christine when I lived in Charlotte as she and John Carter made a great team. Looking forward to seeing her on FOX 5!
  5. Looks really good...for market 30. One would think that Cox would want to shell out some $$$ to get something more cutting edge on air especially compared with what the Big 3 stations in the market have right now. At the end of the day, not terrible, but still underwhelming.
  6. I like the graphics. Surprised some are saying that it's a downgrade from the previous look. There should be plenty of tweaks before the 2020 NFL season begins and as they make their way to other properties, I think.
  7. I'm sure there will be another variation for the other sports it carries.
  8. Agreed - you'd think they'd give him some advance knowledge on what the show is about first. Then again, this is Tegna. (he was only joking)
  9. These have been in place since they moved to their new set in July.
  10. Today was Brigida Mack's last day at WBTV...she is leaving the station after 10 years. Her reporting work, involvment in the community, as well as launching their 4pm newscast and (now-defunct) 8pm newscast on their .2 (Bounce TV) were really some key reasons why WBTV has overtaken WSOC for No. 1 in the ratings.
  11. Meteorologist Ashley Batey has left WTSP. In the comments, she says that she will announce her next move soon.
  12. Interesting you bring this up. I remember toward the front end of my time in Buffalo (late '90s/early 2000s) that WBEN used this before switching to the WMAL imaging package not long after they were sold to Entercom.
  13. Starboard Value is a hedge fund that's interested in one thing only: to make money. Selling Tribune in one piece rather than piecemeal has the potential to make them the most money. It's really that simple.
  14. That's actually not bad. Obviously a Nexstar package, but not bad.
  15. To add to that, WDCW's 10pm newscast (produced by WTVR) is getting axed too. Always was going to be an uphill battle against FOX 5 in that slot...
  16. Interesting how ESPN's graphics were standardized across all its properties - now each one (SportsCenter, MLB, NBA, CFB, CBB, NFL) has a unique package.
  17. This seems as good a source as any.
  18. Wonder what this means for their radio clusters? Have to think some or all of them - probably not their heritage stations like WSB and WHIO - might be on the block too, right?
  19. Have to think Comcast gets right of first refusal as a make-good from Disney for losing the bid, right?
  20. I would think it's just Baltimore since that #11 could be theoretically used by anyone else anywhere in the country.
  21. Likewise - kind of hate how he was blackballed for a few years after his incident. People have kept their jobs over much worse...
  22. Thinking the two of them would be taking a little bit of a pay cut to do the show again, though.
  23. "A personnel matter...not related to layoffs made last week by station owner Raycom Media. It also was not a retirement." You can probably read between the lines there.
