WLS 1990 preshow
Uses a bed that's a mixdown of the News Series 2000 main theme that eliminates the horns. Never heard other stations use the stripped down themes from that package - and have yet to come across clean versions of those mixdowns on anything discovered to date. Wonder if WLS was the only station sent those cues.
Here's a longer version.. starting at 41:45. This may have been posted in here long ago, so apologies for that.

Even 30 years later, this music.. is still fresh. The GFX... just as sleek as whats out there today.
This... is... KNSD.
If i ever got my hands on Groove News.. i will have considered my life... complete.

You can also look for the 2006 Reunion Newscast, first 5:30 First News.. etc.
GOLD MINE.

I think before they became "The Southland's #1 News Team"... here is the June 13th, 1972 11pm edition of Eyewitness News..
From the Jenson Home.... yes.. in a home.
See the comments for details... and dont expect Cool Hand Luke to be playing in the open either..

It's uploaded on fair use grounds anyway, so no one person can claim ownership to upload it in the same realm as the original copyright owner cannot (or should not) take down a video without proving the uploader has profited from it in violation of their copyright outside the grounds of fair use.
Oh im well aware T.L. I'm just the type that still respects common courtesy in the world we live in today... when many others dont. Fair use or not. Personal thoughts here.
The last i'll say of anything on this as i wish to not steer into off-topic discussions on this thread.

This is a reposting of a Vimeo post by Compubit (JRD).

King WSB, a few weeks before Y2K.
Even if the Music Loops over and over... How i LOVE that close.

They updated the music a touch when they introduced a new set later in the year - but that music update only lasted about a year and a half before Kevin O'Brien the legendary GM came on board and commissioned the classic 1987 theme and 3D SF Bay open.
Not to stray off topic, but it would be an absolute GOLD MINE should anyone ever find a clean version of that theme.

Might i say, with a nice long closing cut of News Leader too..

Vintage KOGO/KGTV material.
It should be noted in some of the descriptions, this is from KGTV's Jack White's Personal Collection he was selling off.

I dig the short, but clean News Leader close on the '88 clip.

I remember seeing it — several of the other opens from the period (really the opens remained almost untouched from the '88 relaunch to '95/'96 or so, except for the change from "News San Diego" to "KNSD News").
Yup most of the package was intact until 96.. before the Atlanta Olympic Games.
Classy.. really classy.

Are these photos I found on logopedia from that video?
Also you know what I’d want more than those opens to be uncovered? A full-fledged clean cut of “Groove News” (the first version). Such an underrated package.
Yup, thats it!
And there's a cut of it on TVPMM if you have a subscription.. It's in one of the Edd Kalehoff Demo pages.
The cut i want to hear most was a long closing cut that was used on many shows up until 2004. It was amazing.

We’ve been on a good streak lately finding rare clips, so I’ll add another to the mix. A rare look at “News San Diego” in 1988 (spoilers: no open of course):
Also, that KNSD look had to be so upscale for '88...it still holds up after thirty years, though more as a period piece.
There was an open uploaded sometime back.. but doesn't exist anymore.
And lets bring these back in HD and have them be used now.. with Groove News returning as well! (Yes, i can dream..)

Anytime i find a 90's open of the KTLA Morning News...
I'm required to post it here. And how it brings back so many wonderful memories of my childhood watching this before school..
The Music.. The Open.. Carlos, Barbara... Its everything about growing up in SoCal in the 90's.

EDIT: It's Aircraft as I predicted. Disc 1 - Title: The Motivating Factor
http://portal.aircraftmusiclibrary.com/main/?searchtext=volume[=ACL001]&0
If you were talking about the open, I'm 99.9% sure that's an Aircraft Production library track.... most likely found somewhere in the first 10 discs -
And upon listening to the rest of the tracks, i found a theme WAVE-TV used in '87 for their Midday News. Its the ACL001 Jet Stream Album. And the Track is called "Sundays Heros"

More South Florida clips.
Now if anyone out there can help, pinpoint what musical track, the WDZL (WSFL) 8pm movie is I'd be in heaven.
The song is called Angela by Bob James. It was the theme to the late 70's sitcom "Taxi".

A rather nice long close with the Music Oasis WRC package.. cued up to hear it in its entirety.
