  1. Parts of WSLS's 11:00 news from May 16, 2000. By this point, Chris Clausen became the station's VO.
  2. The graphics/animations themselves look pretty good for Nexstar. Probably one of the better packages they've put out lately. But that color scheme is gross and looks like a PowerPoint 2007 template. Those two shades of blue do NOT work together.
  3. I'll nominate this one from WCIV... that unnecessarily huge text. eek It presumably replaced a fairly decent open with Ultra News... I don't know if there may have been another open with Overture prior to 2004/05
  4. Great open! Maybe you should make a compilation of Cheers finale newscast opens
  5. I guess we can officially merge the "WBOC Late 1980s News Theme" with Tuesday's "WNDU 1986 News Theme" on the NMSA... it's obviously the same package.
  6. Finally, a proper WSLS open with the Park JDK theme... from March of 1989:
  7. Vicki Gardner, the lone survivor of the 2015 shooting that happened live on-air while being interviewed by WDBJ, is suing the station. The $6 million lawsuit claims the station was negligent in hiring Vester Flanagan, the shooter. https://www.roanoke.com/news/crime/gardner-shot-and-injured-in-attack-at-bridgewater-plaza-sues/article_959a802e-fe18-57f9-a3e0-c8dcd1240ddb.html Gray Television was initially named as a defendant, but was nonsuited since they purchased WDBJ several months after the attack.
  8. WAVY's 11pm newscast from Saturday, September 27, 2003. This tape is without a doubt one of my coolest finds - this newscast followed the three-hour special WAVY aired chronicling Hurricane Isabel. I plan to upload that eventually.
  9. It wouldn't be as big of a deal. However, there would probably a lot of confused baby boomers. On the other hand, if you take The Office off of Netflix... oh wait...
  10. Some of my flea market finds from today... WTKR from March 1995! Probably the most that's been seen of the short-lived TV-3 News look.
  11. KPTM open from 1992, unknown theme https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8jVIgBPCv4
  12. From the WAVY archive... a 1981 report on the FCC filing for channel 43... 12 years before WVBT hit the air.
  13. Debi Chard is retiring after nearly 43 years at WCSC. http://www.live5news.com/2019/03/14/debi-chard-announces-retirement-live-news-after-almost-years/ Her last broadcast is tonight at 6.
  14. That open looks fine... it’s not ugly and it gets the job done.
  15. Keri's voice is a bit more sultry and enunciated. Suzy has a friendlier tone. It wouldn't surprise me if some of the NMSA entries are mislabeled either. WRC sounds more like Suzy Nelson
  16. A portion of a KING weekend newscast from 1999. Lots of other material on this channel. I don’t remember seeing this set of KING graphics before... these must have been used for about a year, right before the former Providence Journal stations package.
  17. Donna Gregory, formerly of WRAL, WNCN and NBC News is filling in for WWAY’s Randy Aldridge while he undergoes cancer treatment. https://www.wwaytv3.com/2019/02/22/veteran-anchor-donna-gregory-joins-wway-news-team/ She’s resided in the Wilmington since 2012.
  18. Great to hear more of that Otis Conner/Arnold theme!
  19. Do you have an idea of how long this series of opens was used? Did they have the 2000/2001 Raycom package? That’d be my guess.
  20. Or how about Vince Gerasole & Heidi Umbhau? Look at how she looks over at him at :16. Awww. They’re still married.
  21. A new year looming means more disputes... Mediacom and TEGNA: http://links.mail.mediacom.info/a/1223/preview/2761/2160062/1490962c17516c1f2aa59f64c89f9d5a4ac02e3c Cox and Nexstar: https://keepmynbc.com https://keepmyabc.com https://keepmycbs.com
  22. WSLS weather with Cindy Farmer from 1988. Includes most of the news open.
  23. Oh goodness... that would be a loss. Lots of Hampton Roads material in his collection. But yeah, as stated above, his channel shouldn’t be monetized. If he is using it as a source of income, perhaps he should set up a Patreon or something. I’d consider contributing.
