LocalNewsTalk.net ("LocalNewsTalk", "LNT". Formerly Known As "TVNewsTalk.net"/"TVNewsTalk"/"TVNT".) takes all precautions possible to keep user information secure, including using industry-standard encryption of web traffic to and from our site, and of user passwords stored on our servers. HOWEVER, Local News Talk cannot provide a binding guarantee of privacy to our members (except where required by law.) LNT will notify all users of any known breach of its security as soon as possible.
Local News Talk does not share or distribute personal information such as e-mail addresses for any circumstances other than to comply with demands of law enforcement, protect our legal rights, property, and interests, and to investigate illegal activities or situations involving potential risk to an individual's personal safety. Access to personal information (such as e-mail addresses, IP addresses, and the site database in general) is restricted to select members of Local News Talk's Administration staff. Moderators and Staff do not have access to non-public user information.
Visiting any website will expose your IP Address. Local News Talk may store the IP addresses of Users and Visitors indefinitely for record-keeping purposes. Local News Talk may use third-party services, such as advertisement networks and analytical services, to help fund the site, monitor its usage, or for any other reason. Local News Talk cannot control how this data is used. A listing of such services, along with a link to their own Privacy Policy, is located at the bottom of this document.
Users who would like a greater degree of privacy should configure their browser appropriately. Some popular browsers can be configured not to accept cookies without confirmation, not to save cookies for some sites, not to load files from some sites, etc. Users who disable features of their browser might not be able to fully use the site (e.g., some cookies are necessary to allow login).
Users may, at any time, request a copy of all PII (Personally Identifiable Information) stored by Local News Talk, as well as request that their account be deleted, using the User Control Panel.
