  3. The only people who care about the host issue are the Karens on Facebook who don't realize Trebek can't be brought back from the dead. Jeopardy generally gets higher ratings than Wheel- Using it as a stronger lead-in for NBC Primetime.

  4. Depending on what all they plan, of course, the coming 9am newscast would seem like a solid candidate to originate streetside.

  5. It appears several game show channels have been terminated in recent weeks on YouTube. Among them is the Fun & Games Channel run by the late David Downs, who died in late 2019. It appears that a British "Anti-piracy" company contracted with Sony to remove Jeopardy! episodes. David's channels were very popular with game show fans until his passing, so it's a shame.

  6. They’ve been paying rent on it so I guess they finally decided they should put it to some sort of use instead of just flushing money down the drain. It was up for sublease for about five years and they had no takers. If they did a somewhat standard 20-year lease, they’re stuck there for about six more years.

  7. If anything, they'll probably end up using the traffic/NewsNation set, given its relative versatility. I doubt they'll want to launch from the cramped space in the newsroom. I wouldn't expect it to be much different from the other lifestyle/pay for play shows out there, but we'll see.

  8. She left WPIX-TV several months ago, so I don't think Dallas was specifically on her mind at the time. She probably just needed a break, or maybe didn't get a fair contract offer from Nexstar.

  9. The article to me reads like they're only building a "state-of-the-art weather center" in the space and not trying to replace the current news set. Weather is something that wasn't given much attention on the current O&O sets, so that makes sense.

  10. Shiba Russell signed off for the last time at WXIA 11 Alive. I have a feeling she will be a network correspondent in the DC area or an anchor in Philly. Sad to see her go. Atlanta viewers seemed to have taken a liking to Ms Russell. Best of luck to her!

  11. This was sent to me, but FOX8 in Greensboro, NC is replacing "The Real" with self-syndicated "The Lee and Hayley Show" (originates from WTVQ in Lexington) on July 5th. The timeslot currently was being filled with a second helping of "Judge Judy". As much as I like Judge Judy, two hours is overkill. Good on FOX8 to pick them up. Would love to see more stations pick up Lee and Hayley with all of the other talk shows being canceled or realigned this season (I would suggest KCWX in San Antonio pick them up but they don't exactly make it easy for viewers to get in touch with them). Anyone who knows me knows I am a major fan of this show and it doesn't get enough love because this show is just amazing.

  12. Does anyone know what happened to btm0815ma's YouTube channel? I noticed that his videos of the CBS, ABC, NBC and PBS newscasts had disappeared.

  13. This is a thing with all of the major social media platforms. It's pretty aggravating in my opinion, especially considering that the "misinformation" label is so vague, and not applied evenly. I also don't think it's the place of these platforms to determine what's "true" and what's not, as that's very subjective, and they likely don't have trained staff who can make that determination. I stay away from modern-day material from CBS, ANYTHING from legacy Viacom. Individual stations I will not post include KESQ and WMC-TV as they've pulled my stuff before (over a decade ago, but I still have a sour taste in my mouth). I focus on local stations and just avoid national content if I can help it. The local stations usually understand, and appreciate, what we're trying to do as archivists. Or the chain owner's corporate legal team doesn't think it's worth going after an individual for a newscast that aired once. OTOH, the networks have bigger legal teams that have the time to search YouTube looking for content to pull (*cough* Viacom *cough*).

  15. ...and Inside Edotion and Entertainment Tonight on WTAE. I wonder if Jeopardy having two rotating hosts instead of one is a factor in the decision. WPXI had the pair that way for decades.
