  1. Savannah for as nice as she seems is just one of the weaker anchors in the show’s storied history imo.

  2. Do you know if the anchors are complaining when they are solo? I'm sure if they were (and it would not be public), something would happen. Note that one of the usual substitute anchors is out on family leave, and I'm sure upon return is not going to want to do early mornings. From a viewer perspective, a short intro is fine, who the anchor is is fine as long as the news is provided in a clear and detailed manner free from mispronunciations and ongoing mistakes. There is no law of having to have two anchors, nor is there a law that one has to male, one has to be female and any other permutation. At the end of the day, it is about how the newscasts are received by most viewers and making them as impactful as possible. If solo anchors dragged down the ratings, you would see a change.

  3. I don’t think you need to look any further than their half-assed open and sound effects. It’s not a priority.

  4. I don't understand why WNBC can't just name someone to anchor with Adam at 11am and 5pm 7 days a week. Also, why are they rotating David and Natalie at 7pm? David is anchoring 7pm, Monday-Tuesday and Natalie, Wednesday -Friday. This also makes no sense. The original press release made it sound like both were anchoring together.

  5. Trying to find logic in the station's mercurial scheduling of anchors is impossible. Remember when Adam would show up to do the 11 on Saturdays only when there was an original SNL? That made a bunch of sense!

  6. Who said anything about Byron getting in at 5:45am? And who actually thinks the on-air personality is preparing the forecast? Nothing would surprise me when it comes to PIX 11, but most of these stations have weather producers who are putting together the graphics and forecast. As someone else noted, Fox 5’s Mike Woods is on air from 4:30-10:00am. CBS 2’s Elise Finch and ABC 7’s Sam Champion both handle the morning shows from 4:30-7:00, weather hits during the 7-9am national shows, and even stick around for the noon broadcasts. Once again, why exactly does PIX need two weather anchors in the morning?

  8. Interesting. in 2009 and 010, Ann Curry, Natalie Morales,, Savannah Guthrie, Amy Robach, Norah O'Donnell and Erin Burnett were al either seen as potential successors to Meredith on TODAY Show or were rising starts in the industry. Now Savannah has been TODAY Show Co-anchor for 9 years, Norah is now the anchor of CBS Evening News, Amy is the co-anchor or 20/20, Erin has a primetime show on CNN. Ann Curry is doing documentaries on PBS. . Natalie? Will she now on the talk.. A "View" wannabe copycat is way more gossipy and celerity oriented. What happened? well et be hoses here she has never really been seen as a hard news journalist. A lot of that is probably the fault of NBC. They never really treated her fairly or gave a lot of hard news assignment. She never fit on access Hollywood. The reason she ended up in L.A is because her husband got a job offer. Things were changing at NBC. So they decided to take it. In order to keep her at the network they gave her Access Hollywood and made her West Coast Correspondent. Kind of like Ann "senior correspond" role she didn't do a lot with it so probably a little more then Ann. You at least saw Natalie periodically on the show show whether in L.A or NYC. I don't think NBC really knew what to do with either nd with Ann thee was a lot of awkwardness after what transpired.
