  1. We're not doing this for every market. Everybody just stop, please.

  2. I think they both look nice, but I've decided that backgrounds that are just big skyline photos are boring. Putting a photo in a monitor does not take much effort. I prefer seeing some graphical design and physical set pieces.

  3. I still prefer the extra note in the jingle. Maybe they will bring back the yellow graphics from the late 90's and early 2000's at some point as well.

  5. I’m getting Scripps vibes with the boxes and color schemes in that open. All we need is Inergy

  6. Same here for KTRK, my local ABC O&O station that has used the current graphics package for over 6 years and, by today's standards, hasn't aged well IMO.

  7. Danielle is a great meteorologist who was treated so badly in Pittsburgh at WPXI. I'm so happy that she gets to lead the Weather Team at WHNT , I just wish it was in Pittsburgh or Hampton Roads (her hometown), Nexstar (WHNT's Owner) does own a station in HR [WAVY-TV] so maybe it still could happen when Don Slater Retires.

  11. Switched over to sister station Telemundo 47 for a bit and I must say their studio looks better than WNBC's. WNJU's set gives a terrace with a view kind of feel. I like that Ch 47's video wall occupies the entire shot, and you don't see the frames or wooden bottoms like Ch 4's set.

  12. In this video, we have then-WBRZ General Manager John Spain explain why his news crew aired a story the way they did on a man who gunned down Jeff Doucet, who kidnapped Jody Plauche, at Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport in 1984...the murder was caught on the station's camera and anchor Ed Buggs (RIP) was the reporter. The murder led the 10 pm newscast, which starts at 3:50. The man arrested was later identified as Jody's father, Gary Plauche. It does beg the question: how would THIS be covered today? A good video on ethics in journalism...for 1984.

  13. The incompetence of WTNH in Hartford/New Haven, CT pretty much answered this. It's likely one big file. Last Friday, WTNH not only began airing the wrong episode of Wheel of Fortune, but they timed the commercial breaks incorrectly and kept cutting off the show in the middle of rounds, and leaving the actual commercial breaks as blank screens. Then halfway through the show, it kept switching back and forth between the wrong episode and the right one. What the heck was going on in the master control room that night? https://streamable.com/zqytp6
