  1. Pat Sajak isn't going to host Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, so there's no point in speculating what his sign-off would be.

  2. That doesn't make any sense to me; if I was a Wheel Watcher, I would definitely rather see it at 10:30a then completely miss that day's episode. Another thing I never really got was why Wheel doesn't have a daytime run, but Jeopardy does. Is there a reason why Wheel can't air out of prime access (in CT, at least), and doesn't have a daytime run, but Jeopardy can/does?

  3. I personally hate Fox’s reporting on other media outlets. They take a very obvious subjective stance against other personalities that they deem “liberal media.”

  4. It's a relic from when Wheel had a daytime version that has remained out of inertia if anything. The involved parties seem to like the status quo more than anything at this point.

  5. Would probably make more sense for him to say "See you on Wheel" at the end of Jeopardy, since J! airs first on most Central Time stations since Wheel is required to air in prime access and Jeopardy isn't (quite a few stations in ET/PT air J! first, too). There are a few markets where the shows air on separate stations (one example being Minneapolis; Wheel airs on CBS O&O WCCO, and Jeopardy airs on NBC affiliate KARE)

  6. Yeah, well, I thought posting a version of the story that didn't have a paywall would be better so people can actually read it.

  7. Can y'all just stop! This happens every year when staff take vacation. They are entitled to vacation. And for many with years of experience and high compensation, they get a lot of it. When an anchor is missing they may be sick, may be on vacation or took a personal day for whatever reason. We don't need 20 posts speculating they are gone or whatever. It is too often on WABC, and as was mentioned it spilled over to WNBC as well. If someone leaves a station, you all find out anyhow. No need to speculate. Back to the topics.

  8. The song that opened up the 10p news on KTLA at the time is "Now That You've Gone" by Chicago (from the album Chicago V; this song, Saturday in the Park, and Dialogue, are three of the best songs on the album, as well as some of Chicago's best songs overall!) Also, aside from his TV work in L.A., Clete Roberts was probably best known nationally for his appearances on M*A*S*H, where he interviewed the members of the 4077th (The Interview and Our Finest Hour are the episodes in question)

  9. Forgive me if this was already posted. From The Media Stash YouTube Channel by Roma Torre A bunch of TV nostalgia, mostly from Pittsburgh. I don't think Roma posted these on her old channel that got killed. The Media Stash - YouTube Two of my favorites below that helped me learn more about the Pittsburgh market. 50 years of Pittsburgh TV and Radio with great clips with a long promo from WPXI's 1981 call letter and image change. 1998 video documentary about the Ethical Dilemma of TV News by Patti Burns

  10. Definitely plausible! Hasn't 1A gotten an update each of the last three Olympics? It would be nice if they adjusted it to bring back some of the "America's Living Room" feel... The giant video wall just feels so cold and generic.

  11. While Katie and Matt were a great duo, Today’s best pair in my opinion were Matt and Meredith. The way they played off on one another and weren’t afraid to take it a little more risqué in the morning was fun to watch (maybe less so following Matt’s inappropriate BTS behavior).

  12. Really enjoyed the Matt and Meredith combo…. And what a shock (and a relief) to learn years later that it was Meredith who encouraged a victim of Matt to get a lawyer and go straight to NBC HR.
