  1. What's with everyone here asking if Sam Champion has left the station or on vacation. Last I checked meteorologists are allowed to take vacations. 12 days without a phone and being on social media is good for someone like Sam. We all need to remember that social media does not consume our lives. At the end of the day we all have lives to live. Social Media is a gift and a curse. All of this to say is Sam will return back to the studio once his vacation is done.

  2. Can y'all just stop! This happens every year when staff take vacation. They are entitled to vacation. And for many with years of experience and high compensation, they get a lot of it. When an anchor is missing they may be sick, may be on vacation or took a personal day for whatever reason. We don't need 20 posts speculating they are gone or whatever. It is too often on WABC, and as was mentioned it spilled over to WNBC as well. If someone leaves a station, you all find out anyhow. No need to speculate. Back to the topics.

  3. There's also no reason for you to postulate or extrapolate on what one person's question of a vacation to the assumption that they left the station. You did the same thing in the NBC thread about David Ushery, saying he left because you hadn't seen him for a few weeks on air nor on social media. Then he was back on air, after taking a vacation in August, gasp!

  4. Sneak peek at the set for the new 10am "Daytime Chicago" daily show with Tonya Francisco and Amy Rutledge that launches next month. Looks like it's in the historic Studio 1 where Bozo's Circus was taped from 1961-2001. https://twitter.com/thederekhaas/status/1428105448180301828

  5. Did anyone say or ask if he left the station? The question was if anyone knew.. plenty of people take more than a week for vacation but living in a pandemic being out over a week could mean something else too. He usually posts on SM too and has not. That’s why I ask.

  7. He wasn't terrible, but he just seemed nervous. Stumbling over his words and getting too excited during responses. They should've given him two weeks. I had high expectations for him.

  8. And we don’t know how long Call Me Kat will be around. It could be shelved after this season.

  13. God, ABC is missing out on a lot of my money by not having a WLS store. The ABC7 flashdrive and Eyewitness News drawstring bag that I got for free doesn't make them much money.

  14. LeVar. Was. Not. Good. Middle of the pack, at best. Some journalist online said it best when Burton initially hosted; "his desire to host exceeded his ability."

  15. A producer has confirmed the update will take several weeks - that leads me to believe it might be a bigger update.

  16. Technically, that "egg" logo has only been used for about 10 years - the "6" is the iconic part, and they can probably incorporate that into the new logo without viewers getting mad. They could go back to their old 6 in a blue box, lol.

  17. They brought Steve Lacy in. Interesting. Also, seems like Nick and Mike (in Italy) are off. Audrey (and Reagan) have been holding it down. seems like they have a staff shortage and it’s showing.

  20. It looks like Gray Television is now mandating the COVID-19 vaccine for all employees, not just the new hires. They have a September 15 deadline for managers and October 1 for everyone else.
